Caulk or trim on range gap between counter

I just had a Wolf 30" range installed and unfortunately there's a 3/16" gap on one side between the range and the countertop. The reason for this is the lower part of the cabinet pushes into the range slightly which leaves an opening on the upper part.

Should I fill this gap using the Wolf side trim kit (which seems to cost a ton of money for what it is) or just caulk it? I'm interested to hear from anyone who has tried either. Thanks
