Picture of living room. I hate to use this one but it best shows my normal furnishings. This picture is dark, so the wall color is lighter in this, it's more of a soft tan than the dark tan it looks in the picture. I know it's hard to see the floor but it is a cherry colored bamboo wood. TV is now wall hung with the black media cabinet underneath it. Black shelves shown above TV are gone. Same floors and other furnishings are the same. We also do have a red loveseat in the room not shown in the picture. There is also another window on the other side of the TV, so there are 4 windows total. 2 that frame the TV and the double one on the back wall. Beautiful space. Do you get lots of light in from that window? The cabinets are dark and I think natural light would be wonderful so keep the coverings on the light side, not the heavy rich stuff of the early 90s. A window shade or curtain should have a bit of space. If you are buying something from Smith Nobel, JCP, Macy's or some such place they will have specific instructions for mounting. I do not believe it will rub the paint off. There will be a bit of damage to the walls as screws into the wall will need to be puttied when you take down curtains later. My favorite place for window covering is Calico corners... Have you visited a shop? They are so much fun. Hi, Mary Ann-- The folks above have some great tips for you, but I'd also search for a retailer that sells double-wide panels so you don't have to worry about seams separating or pocketing between panels. Pottery Barn sells them, and they're 104" wide - I'd look for something similar if a standard-width panel isn't enough by itself on each side. Cheers!

Hey There: We suggest that you go with blinds or shades for each window individually. A window treatment must be functional at first and looking at your pictures, the new tenant needs privacy and light management. I assume that the bottom window blinds will never be used in the first place but they will allow for light coming in and for privacy.
