dog in elk: a revival of the funniest post
Comments (8)This is maybe the 3rd time I've read this one, and it's still funny. That woman Anne has a wry sense of humor. I think dogs are great, but they sure can be disgusting (like eating poop, rolling and hiding in dead carcasses, etc). Below is a link to a funny thread I stumbled across in the "Home Disasters" forum. Not sure that it qualifies as a "home disaster" but it is very funny. Comments (31)I bag full of groceries. I was expecting out of town guests and had rushed to the grocery store with a very specific list. When I got home and unpacked the groceries I was missing the sliced mushrooms, cream cheese, triscuits, green onions, etc. I called the grocery store and explained that I was missing a whole bag of groceries. They checked and said nobody reported a bag being left behind but the manager said to come down and get the items I thought I was missing, no charge. I headed over to the produce section and there was no more sliced mushrooms. I usually buy whole mushrooms and slice them myself but time was at a premium. It was really at a premium now since I had to make an extra trip to the grocery store. I noticed a lucky someone's basket with two boxes of probably the last slice mushrooms and was feeling pretty envious until I noticed triscuits, cream cheese, green onions, etc. My grocery order! Obviously I started shopping with one cart, walked away from it and began shopping with another cart. Funny, there wasn't anything in the other cart that didn't look different to me. I proceeded to the check-out and had to sheepishly tell the manager how much I appreciated his believing in me and had to own up to my stupidity. Oh well, at least I didn't have to slice mushrooms!...See MoreYour funniest pet memories.
Comments (27)What funny stories! Two of my personal favorites involve my cat. When she first adopted me, I was single and living in a "no cats allowed" apartment building. For obvious reasons, I wanted to keep her a secret. She, however, invented what she thought was a very fun game. When I would come home from work or wherever, she would make a break for the door to "escape." Once out of the door, she would run like crazy to the door at the end of the hall that led to the outside. Then she would wait for me to run after her, dodge me and then run as fast as she could back to my apartment. This game used to drive me crazy. One day, tho, she took off as per usual. Just as she reached the outer door, it opened and a person who lived down the hall came in. Scared my kitty half to death! She ran as fast as she could to me, crying all the way. Never bolted out the door again. My other memory is when we brought our 1st sheltie home. Same cat, now 12 years of spoiling later, had become quite used to being the "only." Dogs had come to visit before, but always with someone else and she never really minded, as long as they left her alone. This was different and she knew it instantly! She was lying on the couch and as soon as she saw the dog, she arched up, started screaming and hopped sideways across the living room floor. Scared our poor sheltie . . . and us . . . half to death! 5 years and another sheltie later she's quite used to the idea of sharing her house. She's still the queen bee and never lets them forget it....See MoreFunny pet stories!
Comments (4)Coda took out the screen door this weekend. She was running around outside while my boyfriend barbequed and it was just starting to get dark. I went inside, closing the screen behind me and she came barreling, full beagle speed, after me. There is almost a perfect face in the door and she ripped all the screen out of the bottom of the door, doing it. She knocked it so hard it flew open, so she could walk right through. I don't think she even realises the screen was there, since it wasn't anymore when she went to go inside. Since then she paws at any open door she sees to check that the strange 'forcefield' she hit, isn't there, LOL. I accidentally left the bag of cat treats on the counter after giving the cats some. I left the room to come back and find resin on the counter chewing the bag. As soon as she saw me, she took off. But she took the bag of treats with her, and hid them in a corner I could barely get to, and then took off to hide herself. Also, the new cat litter I bought this week, comes in a bag simmilar to that of the resealable cat food bags. Well, resin will get into any bag of food left laying around. Dog food, cat food, human food, etc. She was getting into the litter, and I could see it. So I watched (I should've scolded, but I knew it would end up funny! and the litter is safe!) her, she got a hole in it, stuck half her face in it, and came hauling out of the laundry room with litter stuck to her whole face. She then proceeded to do a little routine mimicing that of dogs after a bath....See Morenini804
