Don't feel bad, I lost a baby bathtub too. When I had Camryn, I could not for the life of me find Grants old tub. I still haven't found it. It must be buried in my attic somewhere.

This isn't funny, nor strange, but I lost my camcorder. For the LONGEST time, and I swear I tore my house upside down. I ended up buying a new one and about 2 months after, I found my original one. I was SO mad at myself because it was in a spot I thought I checked. I must've been completely blind.

Um, a nipple concealer? You know, those silicone petal shaped or round shaped thingies to help you retain your modesty when it's a bit chilly out. Seriously! I know I had both on at work, but when I later got ready for bed, there was only one still attached. I thought, "omigosh--one fell off at work!" How do you post a msg at work saying "Lost--one silicone nipple cover"? Maybe add "Leave it in a brown paper bag in the bottom right drawer in the break room"?
(Next morning, I found it on the kitchen floor; no clue at all how it came off there! But I was greatly relieved that it was there and not in a hallway at work.)

I lost ALL of Brody's baby items. If anyone knows me, I'm terribly precise about where I put things. I swear I thought I lent them to pregnant friends, who all tell me they don't have the items.

So, guess what I have to buy? Swing, play mat, rattles, everything for baby! I even lost Brody's old sippy cups.

I have had a funny experience with losing a book. After I got married and moved from my parents into our new place I could not find one of my books about bonsai. I searched everywhere. Our new home, my parents home, packing boxes, vehicles, and couldn't find it. We lived there for five years and then moved 1500 miles away to New Mexico. A month after getting there I was looking through the books on the shelf and there it was !!! I asked Mary where she found it and she casually replied that it was in with all the other books. *cue up the music from twilight zone*

I'm missing a lot of stuff here...but it isn't lost, it was stolen. Boxes and boxes of stuff from a storage building.
Lots of collectibles, including boxes of old plates with waterlilies on them that I collected over 40 years.

I guess the funniest thing I ever lost was a partial plate denture. Not that it was funny. And I lost my contact lenses when my toddler flushed them down the toilet.

Like Ron's book...things disappear here...only to reappear in a day or so, right where it was supposed to be and where I was looking. It has happened so often that usually when I can't find something, I give up. Right now, missing is a candy bar and a bottle of cat medicine. I can live without the candy bar, but I spent a good two days looking for the antibiotic for the cat. I finally gave up and got some more.

My gosh, I've never heard of a nipple concealer. What I've been missing out on all my life. Gotta run out and get me some of those! LOL. Thanks for the laugh.
I've lost my car a number of times. Never remember where I parked it. Went to a basketball game once and we had to wait for the entire lot to clear out. Seems there were lots on both sides of the stadium and we were looking on the wrong side.
I'm always misplacing things. I just never remember where I put stuff. Not very organized, I guess.

I once broke a tooth off in front,dentist pulled it ,he then gave me a partial, it was plastic with 1 tooth on it.Yes I lost it.I was always looking for it.I couldnt stand it in so id take it out sit it down till I got up.My husband would find it and lay it on food as if it was eating.Thank goodness thats gone I since got a bridge.

My mother and her 6 daughters all collect Duncan and Miller depression glass. She had a very hard to find book on the subject, and loaned it to one of us...I was "accused" for years (YEARS!) of being the one that had it last. I vehemently denied it at every family gathering. I almost bought one at Christmas just to get everyone off my back...
...Yep, I found it about a month ago in my bookcase. GULP

I went to the garage one day to get the car out, and it wasn't there! Well, holy cow.....who got in and stole my vehicle? Well, after what seemed like hours, I happened to look down the street and saw my car....still parked in front of the post office where I had evidently left it the day before and walked home.

My story is very much like the one above. When we were first married we lived very close to the downtown area. It was about a mile walk to the downtown street and we did this quite often. We lived several miles from hubby's workplace and he would leave very early in the morning for work. One morning he was up and ready to leave by 6 am. It was winter and he would go outside and start the car before he left for work. I was still in bed and he runs in the house, "the car is gone", we are in a panic but wondered who on earth wanted that old beat up car. I jump up , we both go outside in the freezing icy cold and we are looking around the house for "the car". After about 45 minutes our brains started kicking in and then we realized we had driven the car into town two earlier and had completely forgotten we had left it there. The day before was Sunday and we always walked to church and not missed the car on Sunday. That happened fifty years ago and we still laugh about it now. In the end he called a friend to pick him up as he was going to work. It was icy and knew it would take time trying to walk in the ice to pick up the car. Oh, to be newlyweds again.

I lost a key chain with all my keys. I had that same key chain (still do) since I was 16. I found it two years later when I was throwing out a old reclining chair handing on a bolt/screw on the under side of the chair. Not that funny but I was so happy to have found it!

When ex-hubby and I were dating he once had a mouse in his house.
We were at my place and headed to his for the weekend. I put some peanut butter in some tinfoil and we drove off.
When we got to his house, we looked for the little package of peanut butter and couldn't find it. We tore the car apart and it was nowhere to be found. Not in my purse, or anywhere.

After having the car for 5 years, we never did come across it, and we laughed for years, wondering if the new owner ever came across a tinfoil package.

I'd bought it for 25c at a yard sale and was going to play a trick next time my mother came over, by placing it in the tub and closing the shower curtain.
But the joke didn't go over, so I stuck it into a box on the front porch, intending to ask my grown son if he wanted it. When he went to get it a few days later, it was gone.
I think the neighbors' dogs took it.

This isn't all that funny, but is a source of frustration to me. When I moved from CA to Iowa over 4 years ago, I put my address book in my suitcase so I could find it easily when I got here. I lived in an apartment for 2 months and only unpacked what I needed. During that time I used the address book to send out all my Christmas cards. Once I moved into the house I bought, I started looking for the address book. I still have not found it. It had sentimental value, as my favorite aunt gave it to me and she died in 1994.

About 15 years ago at about 8pm, I was late for picking someone up at the airport...O'Hare in Chicago. I drove into the multi-story parking structure, flew out of my car, and ran into the airport...met my traveler just in time.

Going back to the parking structure, I had no idea what level I'd parked on. Of course, by that time it was really dark. We walked and walked and walked...1 1/2 hrs later, I found my car.

Mine happened to me today. I went to Boston to have my mammogram and afterwards I went back to the room where I left my "from the waist up" clothing and my BRA was missing!!!! I and the tech looked everywhere and it was not to be found. Someone stole it I'm sure, I just hope it was a woman lol. It was a brand new aqua Victoria Secrets bra. Thank goodness I was wearing a jacket lol.

Ok I was dating this guy and was going to his familys house for Christmas, well I wanted to make a really good impression, so I bought a new outfit had my hair down and got the most beautiful french tipped Acrylic Nails I felt wonderful.. Got there and to be polite, like I was raised I helped his mom make Dinner... I made the mashed potatos, set the table etc...was standing there waiting for everyone to come to the table and realized I lost one of my nails..His Dad found it in the Mashed potatos when he took it out of his mouth.. I was so humiliated I never went back lol... Guy turned out to be a loser anyways..

My parents gave me an opal and diamond ring when I graduated from high school. Only wore it in special occasions and I kept it in it's ring box in my jewelry box. had it for about 20 years. One day I went to put it on and the ring and its box were missing. My jewelry box looked normal otherwise. I figured my babysitter must have gone snooping and stole it. I never accused her, she's a neighbor. Last fall I decided to clean a closet. Found a box of odds and ends. Guess what I found in that box? Yes my opal ring, safe in its box. I called my Mother to tell her what had happened. And I totally forgave my neighbor. I have absolutely no memory of how the ring got in a box of junk.

Went to pick dh up at the airport. I DID remember what floor of the parking garage, but we still could NOT find our brand new car. We kept passing one that looked like it , but wasn't the same color! .... Well, it was our car. The florescent lights made the car orange, and in daylight the car was def. RED! LOL

oh linda i sure can feel your pain for losing an address book...i'm the one who everyone calls for addresses, and what i went thru rebuilding mine was aweful! now mine is tucked in a drawer right here at the computer...

what we lost on one of our corp moves was a shoebox of photos...mostly of the first 2 kids, sigh...

and the same silly packers packed the cable co's box! had to send that back from mi to ca!

When this was first posted I hadn't lost anything (that I remember). I was enjoying the posts but feeling a bit smug since I know where my stuff is.

Well, guess what? I've lost my brown pajama top. I remember folding it after I did the laundry but when I went to put the clothes away, it wasn't there anyplace. It looks like a long-sleeved tee so I thought it got put in with my tops. Nope! I've looked through all my stuff and Harry's, but it's like it disappeared in thin air. I looked behind and between the washer and dryer, too. So weird!

Last December,I drove my daughter and myself to Macys for some Christmas shopping. I got a handicap spot right outside the door. I bought my item, then went out to look for the car.No car, there was just an empty space! Ran inside and told a cashier to call police. Just then, my daughter came over and said "Mom, you parked by the side door, not the front". Told the cashier, tell the police, never mind. My daughter thought I was crazy. I agree. Not my only Senior Moment.

lost a pair of pants...actually starting to make me mad. I love those pants! Dangit. Ya know when something fits you so perfectly, it makes you feel good about yourself just looking in the mirror?

We had somebody repairing the dryer, and he pulls something from behind the drum. My RED bra. I made a nervous giggle and took it from him. DH asked how I could not know I was missing a bright red bra?

I said I knew it was missing, but no way was I going to tell him I couldn't find it. How could I explain to my husband how I lost a BRA..... and really, if DH had it I really did NOT want to know!

I bag full of groceries. I was expecting out of town guests and had rushed to the grocery store with a very specific list. When I got home and unpacked the groceries I was missing the sliced mushrooms, cream cheese, triscuits, green onions, etc. I called the grocery store and explained that I was missing a whole bag of groceries. They checked and said nobody reported a bag being left behind but the manager said to come down and get the items I thought I was missing, no charge. I headed over to the produce section and there was no more sliced mushrooms. I usually buy whole mushrooms and slice them myself but time was at a premium. It was really at a premium now since I had to make an extra trip to the grocery store. I noticed a lucky someone's basket with two boxes of probably the last slice mushrooms and was feeling pretty envious until I noticed triscuits, cream cheese, green onions, etc. My grocery order! Obviously I started shopping with one cart, walked away from it and began shopping with another cart. Funny, there wasn't anything in the other cart that didn't look different to me. I proceeded to the check-out and had to sheepishly tell the manager how much I appreciated his believing in me and had to own up to my stupidity. Oh well, at least I didn't have to slice mushrooms!

My aunt hung her gorgeous diamond and sapphire wedding and engagement rings on a nail in the basement over the washer and forgot about it. Weeks later when she had the nerve she told my uncle about the loss; they filed an insurance claim and collected. When they were moving out of the house fifteen years later, one of the movers found the rings and said, "You probably want these, No?" They were flabbergasted.

She had not replaced her rings after the loss, but never took them off her finger again.

my friend told me she lost a pair of pants. She couldnt find them anyplace. So I told my husband about it. A couple of nights later they were having awards banquet for archery which my daughter was in. We go there a little late so there were a lot of people there. He walks in and says really loud HEY NOEL I FOUND YOUR PANTS, THEY WERE IN THE BACK OF MY CHEVY BLAZER. He usually is the quiet type. You should have seen the looks on those peoples faces. It was priceless. We still get a chuckle out of that now and then. She finally found them in with the towels in the linen closet.

I LOVE bengardining's story.

My story - my husband & I have been married for 10 years. The first Thanksgiving after DH & I got married we went to my SIL for dinner. I started clearing and doing the dishes and took my rings off and one of the bands from my set -with six diamonds in it - fell on the floor - maybe. Their dog was sitting right there and my SIL & BIL thought he ate it. For weeks after whenever my BIL walked the dog he poked through the poop to see of it was there. NOT. We consulted a psychic and she said one of their kids had it. NOT. Then the dog died & they had an autopsy. NOT. They recently had their kitchen redone & my diamond band had rolled under the dishwasher & they returned it to us.

My BIL & SIL had a special "ceremony" for my DH & I when they found it.
