What's the biggest thing you've 'lost' so far?

I knew I had bought the Silver Shadow grout! (grout broke the cheesy container thread)

Found said TWENTY FIVE POUND BAG OF GROUT leaning right up against the wall in my 'new' room (not yet done) yesterday. Good thing I didn't buy another bag. Oh well. It got the wrong color (Sauterne) as I mentioned...but wondered if you've ever lost anything this big before? I'm such a knucklehead.

Well, I did something yesterday that could be considered uh... "eccentric". I mean, what's wrong with postponing breakfast for an hour and a half to take pics of my 2nd instar BST cats??? It seems some people think that to be strange... Oh, well. Maybe through our good examples these [odd] people can be brought to see the light... p.s: I am quickly deciding that the phrase "like herding cats" should (and does) describe multiple situations. It's amazing how hard it is to get 5 BST cats on the first inch of a finger to photograph. After yesterday's experience, I decided to compose a song to the tune of "We Three Kings". It goes something like: We 5 caterpillars of doom/ We'll annoy you greatly/ When you try to take our picture we can move very fast/ chorus:/O-oh, we will move far away/ From where you want us to be/ We'll come and annoy you greatly/ We 5 cats of doom! -Jmcat

I'm not sure where we are growing season-wise to be honest. The weather has been so crummy in July. Even today it looked like we were finally going to have a sunny 80+ degree day and now a front is passing through, it's raining and it feels more like early May than July. Normally, given the abundance of tomatoes I probably will have - I would just transplant to see what happens. But two of the plants are a Carbon & Gold Medal Yellow and those are the only two I have of those varieties that are really producing anything (given their stunted growth from the pot and the weather - not a lot... but at least I may get a half-dozen tomatoes off of each). If the prevailing opinion is transplanting would cause them to drop their fruit, I think I'd rather have six tomatoes from each plant than maybe none. Can a root cutting be any healthy stem off the plant or does it have to be from a certain area?

I bag full of groceries. I was expecting out of town guests and had rushed to the grocery store with a very specific list. When I got home and unpacked the groceries I was missing the sliced mushrooms, cream cheese, triscuits, green onions, etc. I called the grocery store and explained that I was missing a whole bag of groceries. They checked and said nobody reported a bag being left behind but the manager said to come down and get the items I thought I was missing, no charge. I headed over to the produce section and there was no more sliced mushrooms. I usually buy whole mushrooms and slice them myself but time was at a premium. It was really at a premium now since I had to make an extra trip to the grocery store. I noticed a lucky someone's basket with two boxes of probably the last slice mushrooms and was feeling pretty envious until I noticed triscuits, cream cheese, green onions, etc. My grocery order! Obviously I started shopping with one cart, walked away from it and began shopping with another cart. Funny, there wasn't anything in the other cart that didn't look different to me. I proceeded to the check-out and had to sheepishly tell the manager how much I appreciated his believing in me and had to own up to my stupidity. Oh well, at least I didn't have to slice mushrooms!

I loose stuff ALL the time, DH thinks it's clutter...he also turns out lights in a room if I leave it just to go make a tea....grrr (Maybe I should throw His shoes out the door! It sure feels good doing that!lol!)

LOL guys! I lose about 20 lbs of myself on a fairly regular basis. But it keeps find me again and again and brings a little extra with it sometimes too.

Hey calam, I have thrown Dh's shoes out the door before. He leaves them everywhere! Always in the walkways of the house so I got fed up, picked 'em up and threw them outside! He innocently looked up and said "What'd you do that for?" Our anniversay is this month and he wanted to know if I was gonna "reup" for another year. I told him only if he promised to put his shoes up where I wouldn't trip over them. He had the nerve to laugh at that!

I've only been asking for eight years for him to pick the shoes up, and still he doesn't. Oh well, guess it's just a minor flaw.

I was sick (very) for a couple years and one day we were having a conversation (hubby and I) about doing things before a certain age and I said something about doing (whatever) before I turned 35 and my hubby looked at me and said "but you are 35" I argued the point and finally had to get out the freakin calculator to prove I wasnt 35 yet (which I was) I had actually lost a whole year of my life and did not realize I was almost 36!!! I had such a fit...I could not believe I was already 35...now I am 41 but it was such a disappointment to realize I had missed so much and didnt know it!! But on the bright side...Im healthy now!!!

Don't laugh, because this is serious. I am in the midst of mosaicking the 4 doors on two armoires for both of my daughters. I took the hinges and hardware off, and now I can't find them! I am really annoyed, and I know this is my own fault, since I started the doors before Thanksgiving!

Heheheh our car down the river followed by the garden shreader,that one hurt to loose, car was insured. Never found the shreader. The car was about a mile away.

Today I lost the BIG tape measure. About 3 inches square. It was sitting right on my little work table right under my nose and it only took me 20 minutes to find it. GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Tamar I feel your pain. I took several doors off in this house and have them stored in the shop loft. I am so freaked I will loose the hinges and screws. I know where they are now even after 3 1/2 years but I think soon I will put them up with the doors taped to one of the door knobs. Did you look in a drawer on the armoires? It is fascinating I can find anything in my office work room when I am in the middle of a project. Glad I spent a little time clearing some of it up today. It was starting to bug me.

I spend 1/2 a day everyday looking for stuff I put up somewhee the day before.Dang I hate it...just wait til some of you young things get to be almost 70 and you'll see how lost you can really be LOL...and I'm married to a man who knows where every bolt and screw and everything else is in his life for the las 68 yrs...It hard! LOL

.. Does anyone remember the episode " A Matter of Minutes" ?
(There are these blue guys who construct time. If you lose something it is just because one of them forgot to " build" it in that minute..)
That's who I always blame it on.

Crackpot, I married one of those men too. He can tell if you borrowed one of his pens even if you put it back! I hate that about him!
