This week-end DH decided to feed Ruby from the table (we don't normally do this). He gave her a scrap of egg white. Ruby does NOT like egg whites. She took it from him, then loudly spit it out - Patooie! Then she looked at him and gagged. We all laughed, but he felt bad so tried to give her a piece of toast. You think she was taking anything from him after the egg white fiasco? Forget it. She wouldn't even look at him, and walked REALLY WIDE around him to get by LOL.

Later that evening he calls to me and says "Why is she doing that?" He was eating SmartFood popcorn (something Ruby especially loves) and DH put a piece in his mouth and tried to get Ruby to take it. She not only did not take it, but gave him the stranger with candy look and ran away to hide behind my legs. Odd, she really loves that stuff and usually pesters you until you give her at least one piece.

Then I remembered, DD was blowing bubbles with her chewing gum and it scared Ruby for some reason (the sound? A big thing appearing then disappearing? I don't know. Pugs are weird). Once DD realized Ruby was scared, she kept sticking her gum out and making the dog run away (yes, she takes after her daddy). It was white gum.

I do believe Ruby thought DH was sticking gum out at her ROFLMAO!

Coda took out the screen door this weekend. She was running around outside while my boyfriend barbequed and it was just starting to get dark. I went inside, closing the screen behind me and she came barreling, full beagle speed, after me. There is almost a perfect face in the door and she ripped all the screen out of the bottom of the door, doing it.

She knocked it so hard it flew open, so she could walk right through. I don't think she even realises the screen was there, since it wasn't anymore when she went to go inside. Since then she paws at any open door she sees to check that the strange 'forcefield' she hit, isn't there, LOL.

I accidentally left the bag of cat treats on the counter after giving the cats some. I left the room to come back and find resin on the counter chewing the bag. As soon as she saw me, she took off. But she took the bag of treats with her, and hid them in a corner I could barely get to, and then took off to hide herself.

Also, the new cat litter I bought this week, comes in a bag simmilar to that of the resealable cat food bags. Well, resin will get into any bag of food left laying around. Dog food, cat food, human food, etc. She was getting into the litter, and I could see it. So I watched (I should've scolded, but I knew it would end up funny! and the litter is safe!) her, she got a hole in it, stuck half her face in it, and came hauling out of the laundry room with litter stuck to her whole face. She then proceeded to do a little routine mimicing that of dogs after a bath.

Oh my gosh, I'm laughing so hard ...

ya gotta love 'em!

What a good thing to have in the evening!
I taught Blaze to shake. Now he comes up to me, and sits in front of me looking hopefully. If I ignore him, he barks, and looks hopefully. If I ignore the bark, he paws me really hard (he is big with very long legs). It is like he is demanding me to shake. Two treats a day is max for now, but I, too wonder what they are thinking.

Years ago we had a bassett. Our bassett ended up having surgery, but before we realized that his problem was serious, the Vet's office told us to give him (liquid) pepto bismal. They gave us no advice except that it might help him. Have you ever seen how a bassett slobbers and shakes his slobbery head? We put that pink Pepto Bismal in his mouth, he shook, and pink was everywhere. It was all over us and the walls. What an experience. (Can you tell that I don't know how to spell Bismo, Bismal, Bismol, ?)
