Need help selecting a dining room rug since house makeover
I have been painting for 4 weeks and now ready to make some decor changes. I just cannot find the right rug for my dining room with a wow factor that works with all my new colors. My foyer wallpaper is in blues and greens and the study across from it is painted BM Van Duesen. I tend to be traditional but am open to some fun ideas. I do love animal prints and may save that rug for the great room rug.
BM White Dove is the trim and walls in Dining Room. The present rug in Dining Room needs to leave the house with the chairs but not sure what to replace the chairs with. I am over the gold in rug and it no longer works with my front rooms. Should I go neutral light color or a fun green. The rug in my study has red, blues, green and white and a few other subtle colors.
Below are a few photos of the space: the dining room, the study, foyer wallpaper and I also included a pic of my fireplace that I just lime washed - you can see it through the foyer into newly painted great room with White Dove as well. The great room has undergone a huge transformation and I will need comments on it later when I start to tackle the rest of the makeover. Please comment and let me know of any changes you would make to any of the decor. It is appreciated. I have a very open floor plan so you can see every room from every room. : )

Dining room chandelier selection, please help!
Comments (43)I just want to thank Tibbrix for the this-very-minute removal of the shades from my dining room chandelier. Quite the revelation!!! I've had it for 12 years and, despite shimming them with tiny pieces of folded paper, the shades always managed to look like they were drunk. Removing them has given it a whole new look. I don't care if no shades will create a glare or not, but it's on a dimmer so I should be okay. The look is so much cleaner and less fussy. Why didn't I do this years ago? The six chairs will be side chairs and I need two arm or no-arm chairs at each end. My idea of the rug is 9'x12' since the room is 12'x15'. Comments (31)I'm really liking the Capitol White. I think it would look really good in the living/dining area. Here is one picture of some sample boards. Not really large enough to show context, but it works with the space. My concern is I think it might not play nice with the color in the kitchen. Truth be told, I'm not in love with the kitchen color but I don't want to repaint. I've uploaded a photo of the sample boards in the kitchen. Last picture of downstairs bedroom. The plan would be whatever color is in the living room/dining area would flow up the stairwell. So I'd like the new color to play nice with bedroom color. I think it does. Finishing the stairwell massive painting project is next, and then I can get the flooring all put in and be done with the downstairs. I also have sampled out a few other whites too, but will save those for later....See More

Is this too busy - not even sure the greens match well since I can't see in person. Not really liking it with that piece of furniture so I am moving it to the study and it won't be so distracting.
