Both coffee table and ottoman in living room?
Comments (5)Well, I think it's hard to know whether the room will be overly crowded or cluttered without knowing the size of the room or seeing a picture, but to me, and this may be just my own opinion, but I think if you have a coffee table and an ottoman in the same room, the coffee table should be larger than the ottoman. Does that make sense to anyone else but me? Also, I just wonder if you even need a coffee table with such a big ottoman. You could put a tray on top of the ottoman and still have room for feet!...See MoreI made a coffee table ottoman!
Comments (58)Excellent job! Very creative way to transform an old coffee table. The fabric goes well with the other things in your room. Thank you for photos and descriptions of how you did this. I have upholstered in the past, but never tufted. I may try it someday. Singer Upholstery Basics is one of the books I used to learn from. It's good to know they have a new version of that old book, now. Thank you for sharing your diy experience. Do you have any more upholstery projects in the future?...See MoreShow me your ottoman/coffee table?
Comments (58)Oakley, I love that but it is way to frou frou for my family room. I have a huge 10' long Belgian work table, a white duck sectional, and a distressed leather ottoman. I tried some new throw pillows (posted a while ago on this) but none were the right scale. Anyway, the colors I'm stuck with are more autumnal. (also as I posted above, I don't care for the look of those Society 6 trays from the side) I did buy two things! Thanks KSWL, they are both West Elm. A gold tray, at 18x28 one of the largest I've seen. I like that it is not a slick gold; hope it works. I also got a a candle (cannot pass up tortoise shell). I also like this bundle but am sure I can do it myself. Will also add a planter of some sort, some larger books, and something metal. On the balance of the ottoman I will stack books and magazines and a folded throw. Almost there!...See MoreWhat brands still make high quality coffee tables and ottomans?
Comments (20)@M Riz no to amish! Biggest supplier of puppy mill dogs. Also they are not entirely truthful re furniture. Years ago before I was aware of puppy mills we purchased what we thought was an amish built swing to later find out it was amish "assembled". Swing kit purchased from a big box store and they put together....See MoreManon Floreat
