"Stock and standard are so for a reason. Pick them." This attitude certainly explains, at least in part, why we have so much ugly, ill-proportioned architecture in modern American homes. Pretty much any woodturner can easily make the newell you need; you can find pros in the phone book or on the web, there are many semi-pros or amateurs in every town in the country who can be found through the American Association of Woodturners who can make you exactly what you need. There is no reason to settle for what some accountant has decided is "close enough" to the appearance you want to achieve. Do it once and right.

Ha! Ha! Yes, Madame Plantier certainly becomes a substantial resident in the garden. I'm currently looking for a permanent placement for mine in my tiny city lot. The mature specimens I've seen are more like, pardon me MP, bulky fountains. I hope I can make her climb for me. Vertical is about the only direction that's left in my yard. I'm so sorry to hear about the demise of yours, Mad Gallica! The rose I saw was not MP, but I imagine she and MH are often confused. I am also not certain it was MH, but the bloom, foliage and canes sure looked like her. Quite thorny. The plant had obviously been growing on the wall for years. I wonder if I have a photo somewhere. It would be in my disorganized stack of old film photos, darn it. It sounds like a climbing MH in Buffalo might not be possible. Vesfl, please do post photos after you place your roses and as they grow. I'd love to see them mature. I'm learning as everyone shares their experiences. Mad Gallica, do you have a photo of your MH plant? If you have a chance to post it, I'd love to see its form. As Paul mentioned, in this area of the country, I've never seen MH as a smaller shrub. I grow Botzaris because I've found it to be more compact, easier to shoehorn into my back garden. Carol

Thanks for the follow-up comments. Here is another article and set of reviews that I think gives a good overview of which options on induction ranges are better to emphasize in a purchasing decision. Their conclusion is that the key feature the consumer should really think about is the controls since they are used all of the time and can really drive you crazy if you make a decision that's wrong for you. They were very unevenly browned. awm03--My local appliance store did have a Beko. When we discussed this line with the salesman, he told us he is more impressed with the line for refrigeration than for cooking. I also did a little research on the company and their European presence. Apparently in Europe this is considered a low level line. Thanks for the FP size comparison to your Twin Flex oven.
