Comments (12)Good morning. I ordered 12 shrubs yesterday afternoon, and added a note with my online order that I wanted them shipped ASAP. I didn't mention anything about them being dormant. I figured they would still be dormant so I didn't think to ask. I'll give FF a call when they open and touch base with them. The reason I don't want to plant them til the frost threat is over is not because of the roots. It's because of what I went through last March. I know this winter is entirely different than last year's, and that we've had 6-12 inches of snow in our yard almost constantly for the last 4 months, so it's doubtful March will heat up like it did last year. But even so, last year was such a huge turn-off for me personally in terms of having to cover trees with tomato cages and blankets because they had leafed out early, with hard freezes following shortly thereafter. that I want to wait to plant these shrubs til I know I don't have to be concerned about it. I'll just leave them on the porch and plant them in 8 weeks. If a hard freeze happens in the meantime, no worries, I can just bring them in and put them in our wood room that is much cooler than the rest of the house....See MoreMy 2 year old cat is now pooping every where even the kitchen tab
Comments (5)kitchen table??? not nice!! my most recent rescue buddy didn't like his litter box much when he first arrived....only used it about half the time....since we were at the vet ever other week anyways for other problems we looked into this problem too....but found nothin!! my vet suggested a litter change as well as different shapes and sizes of litter boxes....i went of freecycle and collected donated boxes from all over town.....everything from covered, to very shallow to very deep-walled boxes, and in the end i brought out one of those giant under-the-bed-storage tupperware bins.....i sterilized all the boxes....filled them all with the same litter, and the tupperware won the battle....he seems to enjoy being able to "toss" the litter farther in this box since it's much larger than the average box..... and i haven't found any "gifts" in the basement since then..... but i do agree that you should check with your vet first....it's rare that it's not something physical L...See MoreHad my evening meal, now time to do dishes
Comments (32)On that cold, rainy, sleety and snowy Thursday I finished off my leftover pot roast. Last night was not memorable -- some leftover chicken with a veggie mix from the freezer. Today I made pumpkin jerk soup (chicken stock, chicken, a little smoked sausage, fresh pumpkin, kale, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot & seasoned with jerk seasoning). Very tasty and warming! Arkansas girl, that is how I broke ribs and a vertebra a couple of years ago. I didn't know there was ice under the snow, started to sweep the snow off the porch, and the next thing I knew I had flown off the porch and landed at the bottom of the cement steps. So glad you escaped with just bumps and bruises!...See Morematthias_lang
