Comments (4)I have a shower with no curb -- it's designed to be a roll-in. There is a vinyl sweep on the bottom of the door, and there is absolutely no problem with water. On one side of the door we have 3" tiles (the inside the shower part) and on the other 12" tiles (the rest of the bathroom floor). You don't need a chrome strip. All it will do is get grungy. As for French doors, that's fine, if you want to spend the extra money. We have one door....See MoreGood quality reasonably priced glass doorknobs?
Comments (9)Anything on the Internet is going to be high, including Ebay. Anything near the NY metro area is going to be high. (I think I know the places you're talking about, and they're very high.) Do you have a friend or relative out of state with a little time on their hands who can go out to a good local salvage place? Or can you take a little day trip this summer? Most of them just don't want to deal with online. And yes, they're often dirty, and sometimes grouchy, and they don't "do good customer service" and check things for you over the phone, but will usually help you if you're willing to put the effort into going down there. Sometimes a LOT of effort. I know I have seen glass doorknobs for MUCH less than this at real salvage yards in New England. If you know someone in the Midwest or the South, I wouldn't be surprised if you found a cache at salvage or a yard sale for something tragic like $5 a piece, if you're willing to look through a rack and clean a little paint. This is why everybody wants to sell on Ebay ......See MoreShower curtain or shower glass door?
Comments (28)mdln - Why oh why did you have to post photos of double curtains!!! I love that look, plus being able to step out the middle instead of on one side of the curtain! I recently purchased an expensive long and thick shower curtain (and a fabric liner) for the one bathroom we will have with a wall to wall tub. Now I have to go out a purchase another set! 🙃 Like others have mentioned, we did not want a glass enclosure for that tub. Hard enough to step over a tub ledge. Adding in a shower door is even more complicated. And as mentioned, much harder to bathe a child with a shower door. I wish my sewing machine was not packed up or I would go ahead and add a fabric boarder to the curtain, as well. We move into our new house in a little over a week!...See MoreShower Door Recommendations and Advice: Glass Panel & Doors
Comments (6)Go to your local glass company that installs shower doors. You will be able to touch and see actual doors, metal, glass. Only you can evaluate the quality level acceptable to your home. Take the plans for your bathroom so the staff can help you configure your enclosures. Prices are affected by size and layout of the shower space....See Moreseosmp
