What should I put here?
Comments (11)You could put the two pieces of art you have in a vertical line to the right of the cabinets, but I'm not sure anything is needed there. I'd first remove that light and cover the outlet with a larger piece of artwork. Install under-counter lighting to replace of the existing light and run a piece of trim along the bottom edge of the overhead cabs to hide the under-counter lighting. If you go with one large piece of art over the sink consider running a piece of wood trim along the outer edge of the opening. It could butt against the top trim and stop where the ledge trim is. Then the coffee cup art could be hung elsewhere. I would go crazy with a light in my face while I'm at the sink!...See MoreWhat should I put here?
Comments (15)Maybe my conditions are different but the Forsythias I am familiar with, other than specific gold leaved cultivars, have dull mid to dark green leaves. I wonder if yours have a nutritional issue if they are yellowy green? I am stunned by the price tag of $300 for Forsythia. How many did your neighbour buy? They are such a common shrub and so easy to propagate I can't help feeling she was had. I agree that Forsythia will soon fill the space. In fact I can't see where anything else could be fitted in. Is the bed perhaps wider on your side than it looks? Can I ask what the pink blooming plant to the right of the picture is? Is it a shrub?...See MoreWhat should I put here?
Comments (6)you could do something shallow against that wall, find some nice art pieces to hang above it. Ikea hack. maybe make it a beverage or coffee bar spot these are unfinished oak base cabinets painted white and sitting on a platform w/trimwork. you have a lot of wood colors in that room. I'd actually paint all of the wood baseboard and door molding to white. that dated oak stain coloring really doesn't work w/the cabs, flooring and beam. I'd also try a different color on your wall....See Morewhat clock should I put here?
Comments (3)Since your family uses the clock all the time, it does need to be big and clear enough for easy readability. That said, the clock doesn't need to be the only thing on that wall, you could easily integrate it into a gallery wall with photos, art, etc, which might be more fun/interesting/pleasing than a big clock alone on a wall. That said, if you find a clock you LOVE, it could be the sole focal point, in addition to being a functional piece....See MoreCynthia Abbott
