what clock should I put here?

My family uses this clock all of the time but it’s too small for the space… What type of lock do you think would look good here, and what size

I'd go to Target and look at the clocks. Something will jump out at you.

Bigger is fine. I wouldn't get a colored background to the face of the clock. Just go with white.

If you want children to use the clock, be sure to get Arabic (1, 2, 3, etc.) numbers rather than Roman (I, II, III).

Looks like your style is traditional/ antique...I have an antique school clock re worked to eb battery operated....about 20 inches square and oak framed.

Laurie, just a note. At a recent symposium I was told that single blooms don't have thrips. The 'expert' said that the thrips didn't have a place to hide. Monsieur Tillier is a great tea of a darker pink and has never had thrips damage. The polyantha Marie Daly is a great rose and is about 4 1/2 feet tall in its third year and will get larger if I let it. Lafter, Radiance and Red Radiance are older hybrid teas that are extremely disease resistant and drought tolerant for me but will get 9 feet tall if you let them. I imagine they could be kept much shorter if you wanted. I've never noticed thrips on these and they're all very fragrant. Hamp

I'd probably pair with white but many folks like pink or red. If there's an orange, I'd like that as well. They would both be spring bloomers and then green all summer, though different shades of green and the VGB might throw out a few flowers. If you want summer blooms, look at some of the smaller Hydrangea paniculata types such as Bobo or Little Quickfire. We still don't know just where you are, so be sure you live in an area with acid, moist but not wet soil since azaleas need that.

If you don’t need a place to set a coffee mug/ book/etc on a side table there, I’d do a floor lamp. If you’d like a place to set a drink or something while sitting there, I’d go for a complimentary table with a table lamp. Agreed with others, it does not need to match the coffee table, in fact - I personally find I like rooms that aren’t perfectly matched the best!! Something black/wood that compliments the coffee table would be perfect! (In my phone so I can’t see it now- but someone posted a table that doesn’t have the four legs- it kind of hangs off one side - I LOVE that one for your space!!)

Think of it as a functional space, not just a space for accessories. Large bowls are a good idea, or pitchers. Anything fairly large that you use and can easily pull out when needed. You could also look for baskets that fit the shelves so you could use it for smaller items like placements and napkins.

Since your family uses the clock all the time, it does need to be big and clear enough for easy readability. That said, the clock doesn't need to be the only thing on that wall, you could easily integrate it into a gallery wall with photos, art, etc, which might be more fun/interesting/pleasing than a big clock alone on a wall.

That said, if you find a clock you LOVE, it could be the sole focal point, in addition to being a functional piece.
