Comments (18)I have had the hosta maybe 20 years, growing in the same spot. I just looked at the pictures on the hosta library of Blue Wedgwood and yes it is very similar to the one I have. The library says Blue Wedgwood has lavender flowers yet it shows a picture with white flowers. Mine has white. The size of the plants and the scape length is also similar. What I wonder about is the longer, more pointy leaves in some of the pictures on the library. Some of my leaves seem to have a point but the leaves tend to be more round. Possibly, the first five pictures on the library are younger plants. Does the plant actually change as it matures? The other thing I noticed is the number of lines/divisions (or whatever they are called) in the leaves is almost about the same number (10) Does that have any meaning? Or is it just something to do with size? thanks for the suggestion. if asked I can say "looks like BW" Debra, thanks for the info regarding the Hosta Alphabet. Sounds like a real opportunity to see what everyone else has been growing and what else you might desire....See Morehosta identification help
Comments (12)Ken, you are correct, I am a newbie on Hostas - I had to have something to do during the pandemic last year with no sports for about 6 months during the spring so I bought a lot of Hostas online. I should know to call them divisions not bulbs, but I am still learning the terminology. By the way, the first one was bought from Holland Bulb Farm last year. The others most likely from a Big Box store or from a local garden center here in MS. Our local garden stores seldom have more than 5 or 6 kinds and I don't usually see any "exotic" ones although in the last few years I am seeing more different kinds. I have June and Grand (and Golden) Tiara, so I know that that is not correct. I'll look up St. Elmos fire to see what it looks like....See MoreLet’s have some fun! Comments (27)Indianagirl, #8 is Neptune ben, #2 is Ambrosia newhostalady, #5 is First Frost……I shot a picture of an unusual leaf on the hosta with a wider border than usual still looking for: #3, #4, #6, and #9.. Remember, #3 & #9 are Giantland hostas. Those of you who see my posts regularly will probably know these two. #6, I will change the hint a bit, think ocean movement and person moving fast. I am looking for guesses from ken, tjusaga, lindaliana (try again); steveduggins, oursteelers oursteelers, utog and others I can’t think of right now…… debra...See Morebkay2000
