Laundry Room Sink Alternative
I am looking to install a full countertop in my laundry room, instead of having built in sink. I would like to wall mount (on the wall, not inside the wall), the hot/cold handles with *all pipes exposed*, and have a shower head that can rest above the handles on a hook - no faucet. I plan to have a removable utility bucket (mocked up in purple in picture). Does anyone have links they could share to the parts I would need for this project? Any help is appreciated!
I has not come a crossed any bathroom, kitchen, or laundry faucets that fit this description, which makes me think I may have to piece this together.

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoThis might be good to post in the bathroom and kitchen forums too. I have a faucet like you want on my bathtub. It was expensive. It really needs some depth and might be awkward for a laundry sink. I’d consider a kitchen spray faucet

Comments (5)To me, it kind of depends on how deep the new sink is. If it can easily hold an entire laundry load of water without overflowing (in case of plug-up), then go ahead and get an undercounter sink. But if an undercounter sink cannot hold that much, I would worry about being outside, or in bed, or away from home while a load is washing. Comments (14)It use to be that emptying the washer into a laundry sink was a thing when that was 15 gallons of water pumped from the washer very quickly and a load of laundry could be 40 gallons. There weren't a lot of 2" drains installed either. By contrast, the new front load washers use very little water, 7-15 gallons for the entire load. Also code requires 2" drains for the laundry. If you have new front load washers and 2" drains, then using a drain pipe instead of the sink is the preferred method. If you don't have a choice - any standard laundry sink is going to be fine for your two washers. A plastic tub is inexpensive and effective - but will look bad pretty quickly. Comments (4)My understanding is that concrete is porous even when sealed, which in my mind makes it a poor choice for a laundry room/utility sink. Are there any other materials you might like that would work better as a bathroom/laundry room sink?
