Need pattern ID on Noritake china set from occupied Japan!
Comments (39)Yes, this is the Lynbrook #4724. I own this exact set as well. From looking at your pictures I am missing a couple of pieces that I didn't know about, so thank you for the post. If you look on the bottom of the coffee cups, the name of the collection and number is printed. I know I know your going to be thinking you did all that research and you had it there all along, I speak from experience. The pattern identification is only printed on the coffe cups. A little more history to you occupied china - These piece were stamped "occupied" during World War II while America occupied Japan. These products were made for export purposes. It was actually a law that the pieces had to be identified as "occupied". On some of the older piece, you may see were the occupied Japan stamp is a different color than the Noritake stamp, this is because the occupied stamp had to be added to pieces that were produced before the passing of the law. After the signing of the Peace Treaty, the law was demolished; therefore, the occupied stamp was no longer used. If your coffe cups do not have the "Lynbrook 4724 stamp" will you please let me know, because mine do and I would like to be certain that they are original pieces. Thank you...See MoreHelp! Comments (61)I have decided to get the royal Albert lady Carlyle mainly because the tea cup is so cute and a lot more feminine looking than the noritake one plus the pattern is so beautiful! I had my eyes on this pattern for a while now and i thought it was discontinued but to my surprise it was still sold on the royal Albert website for even cheaper than ebay!! thank you for all your help! I can't wait to have tea parties with my girlfriends:))...See MoreYard Sale China Find
Comments (2)The dishes have a gold rim. The rim is then circled with a border of yellow, dark blue and green stylized leaves or flowers, with a dark red background. In several places around the rim, larger flowery things appear in the same colors, also with a reddish background. Connecting these places is a vine with leaves and a few actual small flowers. It's really a stunning pattern, now that it's cleaned up....See MoreIs this set of china worth $350?
Comments (35)Just think of the beautiful Thanksgiving, Christmas, or family dinners & how wonderful any pictures taken at them will look, might end up being the person that brings a little class to the family gatherings, let someone else have the outdoor BBQ's. With the family gathered around that table & china you will have your own Hallmark memories! We have had family dinners between mom & I & SIL for 50 yrs & some of my favorite pics are those at the table, even birthdays with cake served on those plates will be lovely! I love the set & I don't think it will get broken, we sometimes had over 30 people as we invited few folks we knew had no where to go but even with all the kids no breakage, nobody drank wine or beer just coffee & tea ,but if someone drinks too much just sit them off at end. I would go for it!...See Morenancylouise5me
