Comments (14)Actually, we have split them up a couple of times to share. We are getting ready to give some to Laura's mom. Not knowing how to treat them seems to be a blessing. when they are dormant, I just move the pot back in the garden, where its kind of hidden, when the weeds get bad in the pot, I yank them out. When I notice that they are starting to push out buds, I pull them out, closer to the patio. That's it. When the sprinklers are on, or it rains, they get watered. When its dry and the sprinklers are off, they don't get watered. Sometimes I pour some fertilizer in, if I think of it... most of the time I don't. No matter what I do, or don't do, they always come back and bloom. That's my kind of plant! Bob...See Moremovies you've never seen
Comments (9)Ditto to Star Wars, all those Freddy-type horror movies (except for Psycho). It was a very, very long time until I saw Citizen Kane. And until this past year, I held out on watching Schindler's List because I always expected it to be too overwhelming for me. Have never seen E.T., Gone With the Wind (nor read the book, tho I know I "should"!); I've watched only the first Godfather but don't quiz me on it. Skyfall was the first Bond movie I'd ever seen. Back to the Future or The Big Lebowski? They've become "cult" films, but nope. And no Monty Python films (I do have 2 on my Netflix playlist, tho). No Forrest Gump, Raiders of the Lost Ark, either. And it's not like I never watch movies on TV or in the theater! Sometimes I get hooked on a specific actor or actress and am determined to watch everything else they were in, so maybe that's distracted me from the most popular stuff. And I fear that "Life of Pi" might join that list: I really, really want to see it in 3D, but I'm in full-blown cold mode, so being in the theater this week isn't a good idea. And I'm sure that it's marking its final days on-screen......See MoreStrange things you've seen
Comments (31)I was driving home from college and had to pass under a railroad trestle that diagnolled the street. As I was coming up to the bridge, an 18 wheeler lost a tire and rim, that rolled across 3 lanes of traffic, hit the concrete pillar of the trestle, bounced back across 4 lanes of traffic, across a parking lot and landed in the back of a pickup truck parked in front of a car repair shop. Everyone in all 4 lanes of traffic, slowed down and watched it all happen, no one was hit. The guys in the shop came out and just stared. I don't think the driver even knew he had lost his wheel. Back in the late 70's when I-15 finally was finished and didn't go through Las Vegas, DH and I were heading for California. It was late afternoon and had been raining off and on. I looked over at the skyline of Vegas and there was a huge rainbow over the entire city. A Kodak moment and I didn't have a camers. Swear!!!...See MoreHave you bought products you've seen on TV?
Comments (28)If anybody gives that new Hurricane spin mop a try, post back as to how it worked for you (or didn't!). There has been an infomercial on it recently. I dislike probably ever mop I've bought -- the string mop, the mop that has strips of a felt-like microfiber (like the Wonder Mop, like Libman makes), the sponge mop (I can never get the replacement sponges in easily). I don't use Swiffers anymore, but I do use a Libman Freedom Soft Mop, with the cloths you pull off the mop head and toss into the washing machine. Here is a link that might be useful: Hurricane Spin Mop...See Morewantoretire_did
