Back in late 1991 when I was off work recovering from a hysterectomy, I saw the infomercials for Lori Davis Hair Care products. I bought the stuff and loved it. I used the products for years -- until Cher and Lori had a falling out and you couldn't get the stuff. Now, Lori has her own web site (well, I haven't checked lately), and you can order most of the products. But she no longer has some of the things I want, so I haven't used the stuff in years.

And, yeah, when using the stuff, I got compliments on my hair all the time.

In the 80s, a pair of stud earrings that didn't match -sent them back. About 13 years ago, the coil hose - bad news. It snarled like the old long coil wall phone cords but much more difficult to untangle.

On the other hand, I have bought some items endorsed by cyclists and friends.

No. I find that product reviews right here on the KT are the absolute best. When I needed a washer and a vacuum cleaner, I bought those recommended here and I have not had one regret.

Yep, we love our Showtime Rotisserie and the Nutribullet, I use the latter every day.

Whenever I a tempted to buy an infomercial product, I get on the computer and look for user reviews of the product. They can be eye opening. The last one I did this with was the WORX grass trimmer. Great infomercial, not such a good product.

I like the Genie Bra (is that the name?) that I purchased from BBB. I purchased that chair pad thing and returned it because it was terribly uncomfortable, it felt like a big hump was in the middle of it. Seems like that's about it.

I like the Genie Bra I purchased from eBay, and the PedEgg I got at Walmart, but I never saw them on TV. I never watch shopping channels or infomercials.

Oh, wait--that's not quite true. A few years ago I caught part of the infomercial for Jack LaLanne's juicer. It got my attention because I love juicing. He made a compelling case for his juicer (of course!), and I thought I might get it for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. But I found a much better price for the same model on Amazon.

I haven't but my husband has ordered a few things for me...a couple that I recall...a pressure cooker...and he ordered those little box containers that hold plastic wrap or foil. I know there has been a few other things but brain isn't working yet this AM.

Never. The commercials are uniformly annoying and I'm loathe to do anything to encourage them to make more annoying commercials or to reward them for the ones they've already made.

I recall being skeptical when Oxy Clean was first introduced on TV in an infomercial. Now I wouldn't be without the stuff!

Never, :0) I used to get up early and jog on the treadmill & watch the shopping channels....pure garbage jewelry & clothing. The few times I've watched an infomercial it wasn't anything I wanted either....

My cousin was talking last night about the sticks that come in a vase and give out an aroma that lasts two years. I see that at the store in the "As seen on TV" aisle. Not sure that I believe that.

Nope. As someone mentioned earlier, I come here and get "tried and true" reviews if I'm looking for something. Bought my Speed Queen washer and dryer because of reviews on this board and love them.

I've bought stuff at CVS that says As Seen on TV but never actually see the commercials-we DVR everything we watch. I LOVE the mini snakes for clearing sink and tub drains. The work much better than Drano. I also love my Pocket Hose. It lasted about 9 months-worth it for me for the convenience. I bought the taco bowl things-forogt what they are called-prefect taco? You place a soft tortilla in them and bake for a few minutes to make a shell bowl for taco salad. It did the job but didn't have the grease of a taco shell. I only used it once. I need to dig it out this week. DD(17) wants a taco party with friends after school on Wednesday-the last day of school!

I haven't purchased anything from an infomercial, but I've purchased plenty from the QVC and HSN in the past. QVC used to have some of the best deals on quality scrapbook supplies and I like some of the seasonal decor items that they offer. My favorite Genius Nicer Dicer, the old version, gets used every week. I don't actually watch the shopping channels any more, but I shop at their web sites.

I read reviews too, before buying anything...some of the negative reviews are for being charged too much for the shipping and handling, not because the product is bad..(although that can be the case)..Looks like many people here also checks reviews first.

If anybody gives that new Hurricane spin mop a try, post back as to how it worked for you (or didn't!). There has been an infomercial on it recently.

I dislike probably ever mop I've bought -- the string mop, the mop that has strips of a felt-like microfiber (like the Wonder Mop, like Libman makes), the sponge mop (I can never get the replacement sponges in easily). I don't use Swiffers anymore, but I do use a Libman Freedom Soft Mop, with the cloths you pull off the mop head and toss into the washing machine.

I can't stand watching infomercials, but I do like looking at the As Seen On TV products at the stores. I love the PedEgg, FlowBe, Pocket hose, and Perfect Tortilla Pan Set. I am sure there are a few others. We're very selective and do our research before we buy.

My granddaughter bought me the Hurricane mop and I really like it. Mine has the spin rinse in the bucket too. The ones I gave my daughters did not have that feature. I like my pocket hoses a lot. I bought them at Sam's Club.

Thought of another one. The green lumpy dryer balls-Mr Steamy I think they're calle. There's a spongy material in each one which you saturate with water. I bought a set at a yard sale for $1. I foot I even had them. Used them a few times and liked them.

I just bought my first product off HSN. My sister told me about a product called Signature Club thinning hair cover. You rub it in to your scalp where the hair is thin and it makes your hair look thick. She loved it so I bought it for where I part my hair, my scalp is so white against my hair. Received it Saturday and I'm using it now, works great and doesn't come off until you wash your hair. Funny that you should ask, the timing was perfect.

I buy from QVC a lot. If I don't like it I send it back. The last thing I bought was a set of 6 motion sensor lights. Love them. Have them in every room. We bought them for the door where we come inside and have many uses for them. I have bought appliances and clothing. I have also ordered food from them. If we don't like we don't reorder.

I really got sucked into QVC loved everything I ordered. But I got to buying too much and Tony asked me to stop watching and buying....so I did and harmony was restored.

Laura you can be sucked in but I only buy what I need and nothing else. Unless the price is fantastic. Many months go by and I don't buy anything. I never buy from Hsn.

I saw the gogo pillow infomercial many times and bought it at Walgreens. My nook fits in it perfectly and makes it easier to hold and to prop up in bed. Often I order from QVC. Never have I been unhappy with a product.
