One more in recognition of April 15...ugh!

Three hours ago would be about 6 p.m. Eastern, giving one six hours to midnight, if s/he could find a tax office open, or with amail slot, or a post office open so the envelope could be stamped, rather than a mail slot, to be stamped on the 16th - or does the I R S accept that as mailed on time?

North-of-the-border residents have 14 more days ... and I'd better get busy as I'll have some to pay, this year: 25 years on national gov't. pension ... but don't try to live on just it.

Joyfulguy, in my area the larger post offices set up drive through drop off lanes that stay open until midnight. All taxes dropped off are postmarked April 15.

That used to be the case here, but a couple of years ago I got a rude surprise when I finished printing everything out around 7:00 P.M. on April 15th, and drove off to the local main post office only to find them closed.

Bob, the central post office in each of our SoCal counties is the one that stays open until midnight. However, it looks like a lot of states don't have the same options.
