HELP! Beach House - Living Room with Front Door Entry in the Middle
Comments (12)Chess-yeah that's me - yes, that is exactly right! the owners dad built it about 70 years ago. Jamie Ludwig - I posted some additional photos that did not seem to upload before Saypoint - Was thinking I can't do seating on either side of the door because on one side you have fireplace and the other side is the entryway to the other room. We tried the sofa facing the fireplace but it did not seem to work well as it felt like you walked into the sofa when you came in. Also tried the sofa in front of the tv with the back to the door but then again felt like you walked right into the sofa and it was too close to the TV....See MoreColonial living room design/layout help please. 2 windows and 4 door
Comments (4)Hi. I've reproduced your room in a 3D build to help you visualize in a better way. To maintain a foot flow I have centered the sofa facing each other. You can add one or more swivel chairs which you can tuck away or corner them when not in use. Mounted tv on a wooden panel opposite the fireplace. This way it serves as a family room as well as an entertainment room. Perfect for a winter evening when it's too chilly to leave the fireplace but also wouldn't miss your favorite show. If you can get rid of the piano, you can place two chairs and a bookshelf and create a little reading space. Let me know if you would want me to work on more layouts. Always happy to help!...See MoreHelp! Back door in the middle of my living room
Comments (10)I'm thinking to separate the living and dining area little more, you could have the sofas back facing the dining area and have it right by the columns, centered beteween the columns. Float the loveseat in the room perpendicular for the sofa and creating a walkway behind it. The tv could go on the wall that is next to the dining area. Does that make sense?...See MoreNeed help decorating living room with a front door in the middle !
Comments (6)The front room appears to be more of an entry room/foyer. You could consider using the designated ’bedroom’ as a combination bedroom/living room/sitting room - and, as suggested by @heathermalia, you could alternatively put a tv in the bedroom, if you are planning to have a tv. And as one idea for extra ‘living room’ seating, you could keep a stack of stackable chairs in a corner of the bedroom, with a throw over it. And I would instead set the front room space up with a round entry table, that could also double as a dining table (you could keep a couple of folding chairs on hand for when you’d like to use the table for dining). And I’d also include a bench in the space, for general entry room seating/maybe to rest bags/take off shoes, etc. And where the tv console is - up against that wall - I’d put a console table or sideboard/credenza with some art over it. Along these lines: Bench on this wall: And here are various ideas for creating a bedroom/living room setup: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/rooms/bedroom/gallery/when-your-bedroom-is-also-your-living-room-pubfa3208a7...See MoreCDR Design, LLC
