Losing the only window in Study to enlarge pantry

I have a carpenter ready to start on a job but have a dilemma and need advice. I am breaking through a wall in the back of a too deep, narrow study to enlarge a pantry from the kitchen. In doing so, I am losing the only window to the room. The study is surrounded on 2 walls by dark wood built-ins and a hallway on the far end. The existing window to the study is not large and there's not a lot of light coming from the hallway. I'm adding a glass front door near the hallway so that should help. My first thought is to add an opaque interesting focal point window in the back of the study at the same height of the existing window --which will now be in the pantry. It has to be opaque so you don't see into the pantry. Other idea is a skylight which is more complicated, but I won't lose any wall space in the study. Ideally I could put the window in the study up high since the ceiling is 10'. I could also enlarge the outside window for more light, but would limit the pantry wall space.
