Help designing and decorating a new home in Japan
Comments (9)Thanks Milly Rey! We looked at used homes but couldn’t find one that worked for us. I’m not culturally Japanese, but the child of Irish immigrants to the USA. My husband is Japanese. The home will be built by a Japanese company but it won’t be totally “Japanesey” but rather with added “hints” of the culture. We like the show Mad Men and are into decorating our new home inspired by it. :)...See MoreDecor/Design Open Floor Plan
Comments (12)Beautiful home!....ok this is my take... move sectional to the right until left arm of sectional is where fireplace begins.....buy a beautiful large console for wall on the right and place TV on it with a swivel or hang on wall with movable arm...now because you have created a nice space behind the sectional on the left in front of window ....add a sofa table and now you can add much needed lamps....See MoreDecorating dilemma for a new open concept Florida house. Comments (8)Furniture is an investment. I would feel more comfortable sitting on the couch that I plan on buying. If it's to hard or soft, you're going to regret the purchase. My friend gets a new couch every few years and spends very little on it. I get a new couch every 20 years and spend a lot (Ethan Allen custom). Depends on where your budget and decor frequency lies. I got a very tightly woven fabric. Have a nice long talk with your furniture person to get the type of fabric you want. It's not only if it's a "performance fabric", it's also how durable it is. If you want something that's indestructible, traditional tweed will do the trick. I used to have a cat, and he couldn't ruin it....See MoreFloor and Decor, LL Flooring, Home Depot or Lowe’s - help!
Comments (3)My advice: none of the above. Imagine going with one of the Big Box dudes only to find out you wasted money on something that is cr@p. Now picture your reaction when you find that out. Now imagine having to pay for it all over again. Now imagine you find out the timing works out PERFECTLY to the arrival of the CoreTec...and if you had JUST WAITED you wouldn't have lost all the money on the first install. Remember: floors go in LAST! They should be completed the week before you move in....See MoreUser
