BM Chantilly lace cabinets with Simply white trim?

Hi! We are having our cabinets painted since they look too creamy when they were installed. I've decided on BM Chantilly lace for them. My WHOLE house is newly painted with BM Simply white trim. Anyone have any experience with those 2 colors together? I really, really don't want to have it all repainted (trim, doors, staircase.....). Help!

The cabinet painter is most likely color matching and the color difference is caused by the different paint base he is using.

I also used BM Simply White for all my trim, doors, crown and ceilings.

I'd leave it alone and live with the creamy because at least it would be consistent. And once you get everything in place and decorated, you probably wouldn't feel the creamy as much as you are now.

But to answer your question, they work because there's enough difference in Chroma. And by work I mean one should not make the other look dirty or dingy.

However, yours cabinets will likely appear white and your doors and trim will be creamy/off-white

And that's fine as long as you repeat the palette of creamy + white throughout the space around the cabinets. That's kind of your theme going forward for the kitchen creamy + white.

Again, I think you're better off living with the decision you made but only you can make that decsion and you can make it work.

Lori, thank you! The cabinets definitely need to be painted. They almost look yellow and I know I can’t live with it in a brand new house. The Simply white on the trim looks crisp and clean. We did a sample of simply white on the cabinets and it looks creamier than the simply white trim. Weird, I know. So I’m getting a sample door of Chantilly lace to see if that blends with the trim. Good to know they will coordinate!

Hi we are building new house - modern/open concept but not ultra modern. Was recommended to do Chantilly Lace trim/doors/ceiling and paint White dove for bathroom walls, kitchen cabinetry. However I've been reading that white dove while a versatile and lovely colour can look bad next to a truer white eg. White tile, toilets/tubs, chantilly lace, so now I'm worried about areas where these 2 are going to be side by side. Ideally I want a warm but versatile white not creamy and it would be nice to have the same ceiling/trim/door colour everywhere. Should I reconsider these colours together? Or will they be just fine? Bathrooms I could have different trim/ceiling colour but it gets tricky in open concept kitchen, dining room and family room. I can't do paint swatches and don't have the millwork done yet - just have to pick a colour and go with it as this is construction for a whole house. General colour scheme for what has been selected so far: natural oak and walnut millwork, oak floors, black frame windows, tiles grey/greige/white/soft white colours. I've looked at both colours and while I like them each separately not sure about putting them together but I'm looking at paint chips only. Appreciate any advice as I am starting to go crazy researching white paint!!

I prefer a cleaner white for trim, doors and cabinets in general and that's why I see CL as a better choice especially considering the tone of your floor. Chantilly Lace and Simpy White both technically work with Wind's Breath. There are no red flags that show up in the notations to indicate that they won't harmonize or go together. For example, I would do WB on the walls, CL on trim/doors and SW on the ceiling - it's a pretty palette. Consider the color of the cabinetry throughout the house too to help you make a decision.

Thank you for the advice! If you are suggesting Decorator's white for trim/ceiling..would you suggest just using the same color for the walls? I have sort of reddish brownish hardwood with beams as well (old house). My painter is starting soon so I won't have time to go sample more white/combos.

@Dawne, you don't bother me. Ask as many questions as You need. Most are 6" ( upper cabinets and some smaller drawers ) and 8" on longer drawers.

They almost look yellow and I know I can’t live with it in a brand new house.

I'm guessing different products were used on the cabinets and doors/trim.

I picked the cabinets from the builder but the color is a lot different now that they are installed. I think the lighting was making them appear whiter in the showroom. I chose simply white for all the trim, door etc and I love how they came out. I don’t know the exact color that’s on the cabinets but they look yellow/cream against my marble counters and simply white trim.

Here is a sample door the cabinet painter gave me of Simply white on a door. It still looks creamier than my Simply white trim which baffled me. That’s what moved me on to Chantilly lace for the cabinets since it’s a bit brighter. I’m hoping to get a sample door of that this week.

Stillpitpat I did that too. The cabinets are definitely the wrong shade of white. I’m hoping that the Chantilly lace sample door will match up better with my trim.
