Help! Did I make a mistake buying Simply White with Chantilly Lace?
Comments (18)I am adding to an old thread here but I have a similar dilemma... I am painting my new bedroom walls silver chain /harbor gray.. I was going to use simply white on ceiling and trim but I questioned the lack of brightness in simply white on my ceiling .. I have northern and eastern light and some southern but it doesn’t make it in due to a farmers porch. I was advised due to this I might want to try Chantilly lace on the ceiling and that simply white trim could work but it’s doesn’t seem so ? Maybe the gray is causing my dilemma .. i am used to working with two colors not three... I also have vaulted ceilings and a tray... on top of it I need to come up with a complimentary color for master bath.. or stay the with the same ?Any help would be MUCH appreciated!...See MoreBenjamin Moore WB Paint + Simply White vs. Chantilly Lace Trims/Doors
Comments (5)I prefer a cleaner white for trim, doors and cabinets in general and that's why I see CL as a better choice especially considering the tone of your floor. Chantilly Lace and Simpy White both technically work with Wind's Breath. There are no red flags that show up in the notations to indicate that they won't harmonize or go together. For example, I would do WB on the walls, CL on trim/doors and SW on the ceiling - it's a pretty palette. Consider the color of the cabinetry throughout the house too to help you make a decision....See Morewould simply white trim look weird with chantilly lace cabinets ?
Comments (3)You need to bring a sample of that countertop into your space and see...with your lights on and with the daylight that your kitchen gets. There are many posts here regarding a "white" countertop not reading white after all. Since your trim is SW already, I would check first before committing. And paint a sample board with CL and see that against your countertop choice also. AND your quartz sample might not even match your actual slab perfectly. ...whites are tricky....See MoreSimply White walls & Chantilly Lace ceiling/trim?
Comments (4)I wouldn't put those two colors together either. Since you already have Chantilly Lace kitchen cabinets you should go with that color. For me that would be way too much white, so if that is what's making you hesitate and gravitate toward a warmer white for the walls, look at other off whites for the wall color such as Silver Satin, White Wisp or Paper White. Warm colors don't really go with Chantilly Lace. If you use all Chantilly Lace, the different sheens will cause the color to look slightly different on the walls as compared to the trim so maybe that will be enough difference for you. Sample before paying someone else to paint so you're sure and you don't waste your money. Or if you do it yourself you will be wasting your own time. Your bedrooms and bathrooms are opportunities to use other colors if you don't want all white. It is usually best to carry the same trim color throughout a house, but I have cheated on that if there is a doorway (with a door that closes, not just an opening) between rooms. In that case the average person won't notice if the trim colors are different....See MoreG Indecisive
