Kitchen remodel painting dilemmas......help!!
Comments (10)@Patricia Colwell Thanks so much! I really like the Gray Wisp. :) I also just looked at Quiet Moments. I have some existing furniture that I will have to work with, and am going to order Samplize squares to see if one of these green grays works. I haven't posted photos as to be honest, right now my home is totally torn up with boxes of packed materials, along with all of the construction tools, boxes of flooring, and cabinets stacked in every room. There just isn't much to see. Do you know off hand what Sherwin Williams colors are similar to the Gray Wisp/Quiet Moments? I've seen Sea Salt which I just read is similar but I recall it looking more blue in the space I saw it in. My contractor will be using SW paint. Have you seen Gray Wisp in North and East facing rooms? I tried samples of several of the more greige colors and they were very cold and drab in those rooms. I am not wanting a super cool effect, and would like something that leans subtle and warm. I appreciate you taking the time to offer me suggestions!...See Morekitchen remodel dilemma Fridge, shelves tile!
Comments (4)Agree with Jan. At minimum, design it so your fridge fits the space. Then ask yourself if you really need a wine fridge right next to a regular fridge. I have had and enjoyed a wine fridge previously because it keeps wines at temp. But the main thing that was great was to have the wines available for entertaining outside of the kitchen area. I’m not sure of your needs but I question how useful it will be to have them next to each other....See MoreHelp! Kitchen Remodel Dilemma - Counters, Paint, Floors & Backsplash!
Comments (12)@A T Thanks for the recommendations! I hadn't considered Leathered granite, I do have some concerns on resale value with leathered as it is much less common, but will definitely look into it. The tile you suggested though is perfect! Thank you!! @la_la Girl I am open to making it all one level, but at this point planning to keep it different heights. My main concern is losing multiple outlets and that this opens directly into the living room. I kind of like the dual height from the perspective that it hides the mess in the kitchen (oops!), but I am definitely open to hearing reasons to take it down to one level! @acm Thanks for the input! You may be right, I could try painting the cabinets and then see how the granite looks before replacing. Since the butlers pantry is separated from the rest of the kitchen i have debated using that as my "test case" and painting the cabinets there to see how they look before getting into the rest of the kitchen....See MoreKitchen remodel dilemma
Comments (11)@Ryan B My condo was built in 1965 and I think the stove is the original because everything else in the kitchen was when I moved in 🤣 My Caloric stove was actually electric with the coils but the illustration I found was the gas - the electric looked just like this one except with coils and mine was white. I think the Caloric also came in the hip 1960's shades of "copper" (dark brown) as well as harvest gold and the avocado green in the ad My neighbor had what I think is what you were describing. It had "plates" instead of coils. Evidently if the bottom of your pan wasn't completely flat it didn't work well - or at least that was what my neighbor blamed her bad food on...See MoreUser
