Design Dilemma Windows

What color rod and curtain suggestions ?

I have beige walls and got a grommet style beige curtain. I feel like they look a bit like a shower curtain but I can keep them as well . Should the curtain rod and hold backs be nickel since that is on the curtain . Or could I do antique bronze or even black ? I am starting over in the room so really not a lot to match other than the natural color beading in the furniture.

IMO those windows would look better with roman shades since you will have an issue of where to put the rods and how wide . Why so much brown and beige ? The world is full of color and I find beige rooms are always screaming for color . Maybe wait for the window coverings until you choose art and IMO wood floors with an area rug would be a nice addition to this spaceinstead of wall to wall carpet.

The room only has furniture in it that will be replaced along with carpet so it may not help . Here are the windows

My curtain rings are a different bronze from my curtain rods. Not only that, when I decided to add more curtain panels, I could not find the same rings, so the latest rings are another shade of bronze, AND they are also slightly larger than the original. LOL Not only are they not noticeable (at least no one has mentioned it) but I don't notice anymore. Really cannot tell when they are hung high near the ceiling, anyway.

I like drapes to look like they are operational. And it will be possible to close my drapes, but I don't think they will be easy to move and I don't have any reason to ever close them. I currently have four inside mounted mini-blinds on the window. I have to be able to keep out very strong sun in the summer and I prefer to have something right up against the glass as opposed to using curtains, which trap the heat between the windows and the curtains. This window creates many problems for me, lol. I plan to hang the drapes just below the ceiling and the stack back will probably be 1.5 - 2 feet on either side. Since I've got plenty of room to do so, I want to hang plenty of panels to help absorb sound in the room. I dragged my 38 x 58 gold mirror into the room to see how it was going to look with the yellow walls. It does not look good! Now I think I have to paint the frame of the mirror. Any suggestions on colors for that? The photo of the window was taken when the walls only had primer on them. Then I painted the room with Behr's (I will NEVER EVER depart from my previous policy of using only BM again) Gold Buttercup. I took the photo of the mirror tonight. The walls are much darker yellow than they look in the photo.

It looks like your dining room fixture is oil rubbed bronze. I'd probably go with that and think it will work better with your wall color.

The only thing on order right now is a wood console with metal legs (looks like brushed nickel)
Medium brown and beige brown leather furniture.

We were going to add color with an area rug , pillows, pictures and decor. We have hardwood throughout the whole 1st floor and we use this room to sit on the floor ect. I don’t like the coldness of hardwood, the noise in the room ect . I know it isn’t idea to put an area rug over wall to wall but works with how we use the room .
We had dark walls before and was told on here that I should brighten it up. Just painted this weekend so I hope the color isn’t horrible . We just wanted brighter and I thought the curtains should not make a color statement but perhaps I am wrong

Since you already have shades, you might want to keep the curtains.

Hang them as high as you can a bit beyond the window opening so that they don't restrict the window too much. They should hang straight down and they are not overly full, so they don't need hold backs.

I like the look of satin, which is light.

That's a good pic of what NOT to do, lol! Unless you want to mount a rod on the ceiling, I agree with the Roman Shades. They don't have to blend in with the wall color. Prints are always nice if you want to add some color.

Personally, I'm not a fan of rods under the arch. It chops up the window to much.

If you do decide on curtains and rods, regardless of whether they're over or under the arch, the rod should extend a bit wider than the window (multiply the width of the window by 1.3), the curtains should be fuller, and they should cover the glass at least an inch.

btw, I like grommets and rings to match the rod, but of course, nothing's written in stone.

Thanks ! The windows look like they need curtains, the walls look very bare with just blinds . The window setup is very odd though since the half circle goes directly into the crown molding. I was going to be replacing the old roller shades. They were a temporary jc penny purchase and it is 15 years later. Perhaps it is just getting used to them though and I should consider the Roman shades
