I'm grateful for some resources that have come my way seemingly by chance but perhaps by some cosmic design or divine intervention. ;-) I have a big project that I've been putting off for a long time... and today, this article came into my email inbox and procrastination. It prompted me to identify a few reasons why I wasn't tackling this project, and I'm beginning to understand why.

Why You Procrastinate

I'm also grateful for Sugar Babies (the candy). I don't have a sweet tooth and avoiding sugar is easy for me. But I made an 8-hour round trip drive this weekend on my own, and Sugar Babies were along for the ride.

At this moment I am grateful for a thoughtful birthday gift from my son last year: the desk I'm at. It is just the right size, not so big that I can have toppling towers, and it has a hinged space for a power strip for my computer cable, lamp, and charger; two small drawers that are too small to get cluttered but big enough to hold a few office supplies. I just need to go get a better seat than the very retro counter-height swivel stool.

As I continue to manage affairs (something I don't excel at), this desk has come in very handy.

So I'll add, I'm grateful for my thoughtful son!

I am extremely grateful that the mass recently discovered in my sister's body is believed by doctors to be non-cancerous. Another test is scheduled for tomorrow and the mass will be removed on Friday.

I am grateful to have hit another birthday in relatively good health. That the chestnut mare I rode today was sweet and put up with me when we were both tired of counted transitions and forward seat and lift and shift and around and through.

I am grateful for my DH who had a really,really tough day but didn't want to ruin my day so shared his news with glistening eyes because he didn't want me to hurt.

Grateful for my best friend who always has time to listen and be supportive when I need someone to just be....there.

I am finding it hard to be grateful right now. Our closest friend passed away on Saturday after 4 months of intense suffering. I guess I am grateful that his suffering is over but we will miss him so much. Today we will go to the viewing and tomorrow the funeral and give our support to his handicapped wife and their family. And I am grateful that the weather is to be calm and sunny these 2 days of an otherwise dark time for a family that I care for deeply.

lgmd, my sympathies and condolences. May you find gratitude for all the support you can give and receive from the family and friends at these sad, memory-filled gatherings.

I'm grateful the tax assessor agrees that our house is not worth what he has it appraised at. He's lowering the appraisal, we'll get a refund!!!! YAY!

I was able to plant actual plants into the actual garden yesterday. Garden season is going on!

Happy birthday wishes to watchme and condolences to Igmd_gaz. Life certainly is a roller coaster of good times/bad times and every possible range of emotions.

We have been cleaning up storm damage for the past week or so. The most recent winter storms in the north state caused a lot of trees to break or topple over; we lost somewhere between 15 - 20 good sized trees. It's very hard work involving piling big heavy branches in burn piles, loading the pieces of wood into the truck as hubby cuts them with his chainsaw, unloading them to the woodpile, spitting the rounds and then stacking in the woodshed. Much of this is done on steep terrain with lots of up and down walking while dragging the debris out. It struck me yesterday that I used to complain when I had to do this type of thing, but now I am so very grateful that my 60 year old body can still do this hard work. I know so many people in my age group with physical issues that would prevent them from doing what I've described and it really has me counting my blessings. Plus, I know that physical activity such as this is very good for me. Many people pay gyms for strenuous workouts while mine is free and it also gets me out in the fresh air and sunshine.

I'm grateful to God that I survived my second kidney stone surgery and I pray that the surgeon got all the stones blasted to powder. I will find out next week. I'm thankful for my husband and adopted daughter being with me for my surgery.

Dawn....I'm sorry you lost so many trees. I'm "grateful" your physically able to do such heavy work.

Linda....I'm thinking of you. Your a rock....going through so much.....and surviving it all! I hope you get well.

I'm grateful that this place is still here after around 20 years.

I'm grateful that I was able to get my sisters back in my life after we had many years of estrangement. I feel very lucky.

U an thankful for getting my sisters back in my life too.

This morning I received a text from a dear friend who I don't often get a chance to see. But she was thinking of me and sent me a sweet text. It made my day, and I paid it forward and reached out to another friend. Much of technology has been questionable in terms of human connection, but I find texting has encouraged so much more communication that would not have otherwise taken place in the moments of my days. So, grateful for my friend and for texting.

I'm grateful my car has made it to 144,000.00 miles with no major problems so far. I could buy another one and I am grateful for that, but I really try to get the most out of my cars. Hopefully I can keep it going another couple years.

I am grateful that I was able to spend several days with friends as we took a trip to the shore. We had a wonderful time and did a lot of laughing and called ourselves 'grandmas gone wild" on spring break. Although Im ready to stay home I am leaving today for a 5 hour trip to see my oldest grand daughter who is at school in New York. Looking forward to seeing her and spending time with my daughter and family.

I was thinking how grateful I am that my body does so many things automatically....how wonderful it is that it digests food, breathes, blinks, circulates and filters blood, battles germs, etc. all without an ounce of conscious brain power. What a wonderful machine.

I am grateful that spring seems to be finally here. We suffered through a very long cold and icy winter this year and everyone is so glad it’s nearly April.

We live not too far from the disastrous flooding on the Missouri River and are grateful that a close friend’s farm was not underwater, even though it was very close. Prayers for those who were not so lucky.
