Change Windows Update Settings problem
Comments (6)Hi Emma, Nice to meet you. "Smiles" I have read while doing my search on my problem with Windows Update that there were people who didn't want it automatically to run. This computer is still under warranty and they don't want me to make any changes to the updates. I had never had any problems with it until now. I understand that with some things, it is best to do it your way and that is just a preference on your part and I see nothing wrong with that. I went in and removed something last night that was running at startup and I felt it wasn't necessary, so I shut it off from the program itself. I never set it to automatically update it was like that when I bought the computer. I would have wanted that problem fixed anyway. With it being a problem I wasn't sure how it would have affected the update with it being set the other way. (not being set automatically). That was my thinking when I wanted it fixed. It's fixed now and I am very happy about it. Thank you for your input I really appreciate it. thirdfrt!!!...See MoreChanging Window Opening In Masonry Home
Comments (9)I have a solid masonry house and am considering replacing the old rope/weight wood windows. Inserts seem to loose way too much glass and change the ratios that make the house look original. But isn't this also a problem when using a buckframe for full frame tear outs? What exactly is the problem with just using masonry clips and anchors directly to the masonry. I agree that Tapcon screws into porous block to secure the masonry clips would be problematic. But there are other anchors specific for concrete block- sleeve anchors or the screws using the plastic or lead surrounds. Brickeye, I noticed comments on this forum from you from 2007 basically saying that buckframes in solid masonry for new full frame windows just serve to lose glass and increase installation costs and hassle. It almost seems like a boondogle for installers considering all the flashing and molding that buckframes require. Have you changed your mind?...See MoreNeed exterior hep-change windows?
Comments (9)It’s primarily a dining room but it’s too big for just that-our house isn’t that large (2100 with the addition we just built) and we decided to move our kitchen into our former TV room so lost some seating area. We are not formal people so having my grandma’s old dining room table, a hutch, and some seating at the end will probably work (it was suggested by our kitchen designer)....See MoreChanging windows
Comments (6)I honestly have no idea about what you mean by a sliding door with railing for starters. If there is no stairs or deck where would you put the railing. I assume the sliding door will go where you have the single door now. That of course will require building a new header and taking out bricks to do so. What is the reason for the sliding door? IMO that whole patio area needs to be redone and made larger and as for window color I think if all windows are being done I would do black. What are you planning for that large white wall with the large window in the back? A bit more info about the style of windows would also help....See Moremeeka12
