Can you help choosing island color

Hi,

Im in the process of ordering my kitchen. The cabinets, the refrigerator and the dishwasher will have white panels and The wood Hood will be white. The counter top will be super white quartzite. I chose repose gray lightened by 50% for the walls as it looked light gray on my kitchen walls. The hardwood floor will be maple Mirage Praline . whar color should I choose for the island? Can I use the original repose gray as an island color or I need darker gray color? ( I like silver tone).

I tried sw Dovitail but it came out very dark.

I really like the idea of matching your grey walls to the island. It will tie everything together. Is it too late to change the countertop to the island as well? It gives so much warmth to the room with a wood countertop. Check out these photos below of the white cabinet and grey island concept. Good luck!

Thank you Andrea. I may paint the island Sw Essential gray as it looked true gray in my kitchen. I paint the walls repose gray 50% lightened. I can do partial wood island counter top( butcher block).

On this client’s kitchen remodel, we opted for Shaker style painted cabinets for the perimeter with stained Alder cabinets for the island. The countertops are Caesarstone quartz Frosty Carina. I think a similar color for your island cabinets would be very beneficial to your kitchen as well.

i think you can definitely go dark. you get plenty of natural light, have white cabs, light color on walls. the dark gray will ground the space and tie in with other dark elements. i like the last tile on the board. it looks like a nice gray/brown which i love vs. an all gray tile, which can be a little cold looking. i would lay horizontal, i would have to see it in a herringbone pattern b/c i feel like that could be a little too much. i would definitely run it up to ceiling behind exhaust fan. i will add, although i like the color of the tile, i would do a matte finish vs. a polished finish. just my preference since i am not fond of "shiny".... what type of counters are they, i can't tell from pics.... your space is awesome by the way, you did a great job!!! Enjoy!!!! also, u can post this on kitchen forum to get more feedback

Well, I painted an old dresser velveeta cheese orange when I was in college (it was a $5 mis mix paint can at the store), so I guess you’d say, all my adult life? I wear almost all black, white or navy, so at least I don’t clash when I sit on my sofa! It helps that my husband very much loves color too. Our bedroom is simple though- white bedding, natural wood furniture (antiques and modern), ivory drapes, medium grey walls and a vintage karastan wool rug in shades of teal and faded reds. Serene for sleeping and cheery for daytime. Honestly my living room is not for everyone. But it suits us perfectly. If your husband isn’t on board, you can start small and build off your great decorative pillows. Add some great coffee table books by getting a few from the library to see how they look in your room. Keep the furniture for now and build slowly so you don’t scare anyone or make a huge investment you regret. If you make a built in, use your accessories you already have. Have fun! And shop at resale places for vintage pieces that don’t require huge investments.

I am not a pro, and visualization can be a challenge for me. However, are you sure that the floor you've chosen will work well with the grays? On my screen, it has an orange cast to it. In the pictures that the pro, Andrea, has provided, the floor is either neutral brown, or has a gray wash to it. Are you sure you can visualize your chosen floor complementing your gray vision?

Do the same gray as the walls just not cut. As for a different island counter then no change in island color just leave like the rest of the cabinets both different color island and different counter is too busy IMO

Im not sure if I can paint the island the same color as the walls. The repose gray 50% is too light for the island.
