I need help choosing a paint color for a kitchen island
Comments (2)I did think of that option, and I found a paint that is almost exactly the color of the tile; for some reason though I just thought the tile itself would look prettier if the wood surrounding it was a contrasting color....See MoreRehabbed kitchen - now need help choosing paint colors!
Comments (15)Here's how it might work. Pick an inspiration...in this case the fabric...which works with a turquoise island. From the fabric pick a wall color, a ceiling color and the turquoise you want for the island. You can then use the colors in the rest of the palette to bring all your rooms together...maybe use the lighter palette in the LR, the medium colors in the dining area...keep the chairs in the yellow green tones and maybe select the gold tone or the deeper taupe to use on the pew fabric. I'd use the same fabric for the drapes in the dining area as I did in the kitchen. I'd select a more formal fabric though for the LR. I'd probably pick the soft beige for the LR walls. If you don't like this fabric or this color way, that's ok...it's just an example of how this could work for you....See MoreNeed help choosing paint color for Kitchen/Living room/Foyer
Comments (0)Wife and I are looking into repainting the interior of our house. You'll see the paint test zones on the wall scattered around. Our house was painted by the previous owners. I just recently finished staining the cabinets and rebuilding the kitchen island. (Mind the mess in the photos!) Anyway Here's the photos. Looking to repaint the entire Foyer. I was considering painting the inside of the front door Red to match the outside... Still not sure. As for colors for the Kitchen/Living area we were looking for something more neutral in the house. The only requirements my wife has is no yellow (apparently its a couples fighting color) and that we don't paint the fireplace wall something that will wash into our white fireplace (unless we can get a recommendation for that too). Foyer is normal white builder paint Foyer front door wall is currently a warm orange color Kitchenette is a warm orange color Kitchen is Cream Family room is Cream Family room main wall is barn red...See MoreNeed help choosing island and counter colors!
Comments (17)Okay For whatever reason, you're afraid to stand back and get a shot of the entire kitchen from several angles. Thus all advice is based on what we can see. Not much : ) Cherry is quite red, so I'd avoid a navy island. White will shout against the cherry cabinetry too. We can't SEE the island. That would make me say a warm gray could look pretty, a deep green could. What is the style in your family room. What are the colors? I'm sure there is an adjacency. I'd change the tops, do a quartz, even a quartzite such as Taj Mahal could be pretty. But you want to consider ALL these elements together. Lights, counter, tops, etc. I would keep ALL the tops the same, island and perimeter to whatever you select. A color on island cabinetry change is more than enough. To say the least, before ANY change, make certain the layout is one you like. That includes appliances, and their placement. The island size and ITS placement. ......never throw money at the wrong change : )...See Moresofikbr
