It is indeed unfortunate when a user's e-mail address is hijacked. Fortunately it doesn't happen too often. I agree with Owbist's thinking that you are being spammed by an e-mail generator. To be on the safe side, if this just recently started I would recommend that you do a full scan with all your security applications to insure that you haven't contracted a bug of some type. Be sure all your definitions are current. If you do verify that it has been hijacked pretty much all you can do is create a new e-mail account and notify only those of necessity. DA

mike kaiser, A hacker can start an https session to break into a gmail account just as easily as not. I don't think it provides any security against hackers, it just prevents interception (by using encryption) when the session is on a non-secure network. For people on a secure/home network, no effect. I'm not certain and the preceding could be wrong. It's a good practice anyhow to have nothing in your email account that you wouldn't want in the hands of someone with bad intentions. That way, there's no reason to have anxiety about unauthorized access. You change your password, or in more serious cases, you set up a new email address, and move on with your life. People get so dramatic and fearful about such things, an email break-in isn't like a home invasion by a gang of 5 lawless bikers.

I am presently waiting for Comcast to get back to me on this. I did change the port to 587 as per their instructions over the phone, but now none of my mail is going out, so....The message on the "error" list states that the sender's email address is rejected. HHHMMMMM. I'm curious as to why all of a sudden they are rejecting my address. salbwil
