Might use XP search feature and click the advanced search so it finds hidden files. Search .dbx (thats dot dbx) Try deleting the 'Deleted Items.dbx' file and reboot... file will be at a path something like this.... C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\(91BE4C73-0506-4C05-A470-2E9CE853BE1D)\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Deleted Items.dbx

Several email utilities send deleted messages from the "inbox" to the "trash" box. Look at the local folders (in the email utiltiy). Do you find these folders, or similar: In, Sent, Unsent, and Trash? The deleted messages are not truly deleted until these have been deleted from the "trash" folder. To restore a message (or messages), go to the trash folder, select (highlight) the desired message(s) to be moved, click on the "move" button and follow the instructions. It should present a drop down menu of folders. Select one and the highlighted files will be moved to that folder.

Have you tried dragging and dropping in into the trash or junk mail folder? If not do that it usually works when delete doesn't

Good Sunday Morning. Although I've had a computer since 1990 I never learned much. First of all I'm still running Juno 5.0. I tried Juno 7.0 a year or two ago and didn't like the format. So, I got a 5.0 CD and that's where I've stayed. I downloaded IE7.0 again but this time into a different file (one hour and 20 minutes on dial up). Then I deleted the IE7.0 I originally downloaded. Since then my email came back and the entire Juno 5.0 system is working except for a few quirks I can live with. I have not activated the new IE7.0 so I must have another IE running somewhere in the background or my system wouldn't even function. Right? I would like to load IE7.0 but am afraid things will again go to pot, so to speak. But, at least, I know if I have to delete it I won't be dead in the water. Maybe I'll give it a shot one day but not for a while. Thanks, again. Gene
