Indeed you did say that, but you said you "think" she was due, not that she was definitely due, so I didn't know you were an expert and I made that suggestion. My apologies. I would still get her to a vet to get her cared for before she has the kittens, the vet might have options for the cat and her kittens once they are born. And at least you will know what kind of shape she is in physically when you find a home for her, there will be no surprises for the new family. They would need to know if she is FIV positive or has heartworms or other possible problems. It will be easier to find homes for guaranteed healthy kittens than ones you aren't sure about. We are about a week away from putting our home on the market. It has taken us two years to completely renovate and fix things (new septic going in this week) so it is turn key and totally updated (except for one bathroom that has the pedestal sink and tub with sliding glass doors-realtor said it looks great). When I renovated my master bathroom and kitchen I did it with resale in mind. Neutral colors, subway back splash, stainless steel appliances, etc. I did this knowing that in our price range (low 500k) people expect all this. They do not expect to walk in and have to do one damn thing and I do agree that with the shows on HGTV many are disappointed when they do not see the homes looking like an after photo from a show they watch. My son and DIL are buying a new home, their first home. It needs some TLC. My DIL wants granite and expensive flooring in a small home in a neighborhood that will never give her that money back in return. My son has to bring her down to earth. She loves HGTV. Coincidence? Everyone wants a home like the after pictures on HGTV. I think it is great for people to dream, I think watching the shows help a person see what can be done if renovating or building a home and they aren't great at picking colors or putting floors, counters and tile together. It can give you ideas. My favorite show is House Hunters International. I love seeing the different places they film in and what the houses look like. I also watch Beach Front Bargain, Fixer Upper and Love It or List It is pretty fun to watch as well. I'm done with Property Brothers and Flip or Flop. Booorrrrinnnggggg.

Island is rather "heavy" looking. A little too fussy for most of the younger homeowners I know; the Gen X and Y seem to like clean simple lines. And seems like a big costly $$$$ island for a kitchen with an OTR microwave. I can't take a kitchen seriously that has one of those things unless it's an urban hi-rise condo. The extra-large subway tiles are interesting. Not to my taste, they look a little too much like a brick wall painted over. The lighting on the island underside, plus the lighting on the base cabinets baseboards(!), is pretentious. Lighting is important in the kitchen, but not to highlight people's kneecaps and the toes of their shoes. I can see this as a kitchen in a decorator showcase or a higher-end (but still middle-class) developer model home; it would possibly impress a fair # of people, however. But if you're a serious cook - and most folks who hang around the GW Kitchen forum are more particular than average - whoever designed this kitchen intended it more for looks than function. A kitchen and island that big screams "multiple cooks" to me. But it's obvious there's too many things missing* to pull that off, and it would be expensive to have to remodel something brand-new. As it is now, the island is pretty much useless except for rolling out/kneading dough, or plating, or cooling cookies. You have to bring everything over to it, and then bring everything back from it. * I'd add: Prep sink in that island Electrical outlets in island top or on both short sides Cabinet reconfiguration: for multiple cooks, wall ovens would be better. I do like the elongated work triangle, however, as it's set up. But I'd move that door and make an L-shape with cabs to hold the wall ovens and all baking/roasting supplies. This would define the island as a more usable workspace - but it also means moving that island nearer the fridge, and with that deceptive wide-angle camera shot, it's hard to tell if there's enough room, or if the island would need to be sliced down by 15-20" Appliance cabinet needed for the increasingly hefty "small appliances" : Breville or KA stand mixer; food processor or Vitamix; toaster oven/air fryer/insta-pot; coffee station. Keeps them hidden until needed.
