GRATITUDE Friday, January 18
Comments (7)Today's a slow day so I'm cleaning out my folders and finishing my annual expense sheet and gathering end of year financial papers together. I have to be grateful for my librarian skills -LOL- I'm not artistic, can't sing, have terrible penmanship, I have a poor sense of fashion (although I wouldn't combine patterns) and I haven't mastered my digital camera either. But I am organized!! And my paperwork is aready to go. All I need now are those official statements from corporations (W-2, 1099 etc.). And now my file folders are ready for 2008. Personally I'd rather be artistic. I envy those who can sing or paint or play musical instruments. Have a wonderful weekend everyone....See MoreDisgusted - any advice appreciated
Comments (4)tombarbmrt, I know you posted awhile ago but just in case you check back....I have had the same problem and know what you are going through! Sex is sooooo painful I think I would rather go through labor and delivery first!!!!! My dh has been so supportive and patient but I think I have found an answer. I got a prescription from my Dr. for Estring. It is a ring you insert for 3 months and it delivers estrogen inside the vagina just for the dryness. I told the Dr. I would give it a try and she said if that didn't work for me I could try Vagifem, a tablet that you insert with a plunger that also is for the dryness. I finally feel like I have "targeted" something that will deal with just the problem of the dryness. I don't want to take oral HRT and I don't want to deal with messy creams. I have tried so many lubricants and none of them really help. I will post after a month or so to give opinion if it is working for me or not. Anyway, please know you are not alone and ask your Dr. about these products!!...See MoreWhat are your preferred ways to find a GOOD new Doctor?
Comments (16)In Ontario, you can go on the College of Physicians website and find out which doctors are accepting patients. Then you can look further there to see when and where they graduated from, whether or not they have hospital admitting privileges, whether or not they have restrictions etc. It is a great source of information if you are willing to do some homework. Sites such as RateMD's are also a site of information that will give you a bit of an indication of how the doctor treats the patients. As a nurse, I have worked with many doctors and I have to say that it is pretty accurate for personalities. Keep in mind that there will always be some unhappy reports. Doctors are human after all and no one is perfect. It will give you an idea and a general feeling about a doctor in any case. Doctors in Ontario are in such short supply, we really don't have the luxury of choosing as much as in some countries. We are lucky if we can find a doctor that will take us....See MoreMy upcoming neck surgery
Comments (57)Thanks for asking Socks .... Had the surgery one week ago today. Got out of the hospital the next afternoon. I'm now home wearing a hard collar, bone stimulator machine and trying to stay off the computer. I'm only allowed on for 20 mins at a time. I was totally bed-ridden until yesterday... sleeping most of the day and night, so that helped keep me off the computer. So far the only real pain is my throat and left shoulder. Loss of voice is typical with this surgery. Mine finally came back yesterday afternoon. I was warned my shoulders might hurt after the surgery but was never told why. I might call the doctor and ask what causes the shoulder pain. Surgery ended up not quite what I expected. Instead of removing the bottom two fused vertebrae, the doctor cleaned the bone spurs off the fused verts and removed C5 instead. He cleaned up and realigned C3 and C4 and fused C4-C5-C6 with what's called a PEEK cage. From what I can tell, my range of motion is better than before and very little pain when I move. But I'm not going to be able to fully test it for a couple months. Because my throat is still sore from them moving the esophagus and other stuff aside to access the spine from the front, it's difficult to tell if my cough and breathing issues are gone. But I think they are. Just won't know until I'm fully healed. Jodi-...See MoreRusty
