Walk in shower vs. footed tub?
Comments (23)Wrighthouse, thanks. Since I've never used the tub (or shower) in the bathroom attached to the bedroom, I'm used to walking down the hall to take a bath every night. That's no hardship. I don't mind that. I just want to do what is best design-wise, with the space. Down the road, will future buyers go oooh & ahhh over the thought of a super-spacious shower, since most of America showers?? If so, it's worth the investment, & worth me walking down the hall to bathe. If not, then I should think about other options. Thanks for your input!...See MoreBuild-up in washer tub
Comments (18)Don't know but wouldn't be surprised if they might offer free/discount/money-back "trial" period. You do have specific issues that they've dealt with before. Maybe make them prove themselves. I'm sort of making that up but over the two decades I've lived where I do I recall quite a few solicitations from them with special offers. I have Kinetico (expensive, but I'm a long-termer) so wasn't interested but I do recall the offers. They certainly have a web-site. Would be interested to learn if you find they have anything of interest to you....See MoreAnother dish washing question...sink or double sink?
Comments (45)I'll add my comment here even though it echoes what most of you say. I have a double sink. I envy my sister who has a DEEP and WIDE single sink. I don't mind doing dishes there at all. She also has a spray attachment and you can spray rinse the pots to your heart's content and no water ever splashes out. Pots and pans are a cinch to wash in there. In a previous apartment, in a really old building, I had a nice fairly shallow single sink but there was also a deep sink that was used in the old days for a scrub board so you could do laundry in it. It was so useful for washing everything....See MoreCopper Bathtub !! What color vanity pairs best?
Comments (41)beesneedsWe have a tankless water heater that sits about 12 feet (on the outside of the house) from where the tub is installed. The tankless provides unlimited hot water at call. They are also VERY eco-friendly and conserve energy (not always heating and re-heating like the tank-style water heaters). Lowering both our gas bill and water bill! I obviously won't be taking baths every night ~ or even every week... And there would never be a desire to fill the tub all the way to capacity whenever it is in use. I just love how big it is for a fun bath playtime (or indoor "pool" time in the hot California summers) for my 3 small children. They can splash around and not make a total disaster on the bathroom floor. To answer your second question, I wouldn't think you'd want to leave water standing inside copper for days upon end... mostly because stagnant water breeds bacteria and I've been instructed to not put any cleaning chemicals or even products like Epsom Salt in the tub since it can scratch the finish. If you anticipate getting something like this tub for an outdoor pool, I'd contact a professional to discuss if its a good idea for long-term standing water. :)...See MorePam A
