Hi;- I am just a hobbyist not an expert. Here are my observations and what has come to mind from looking at your photos. The first plant is a perfect plant let it grow as a natural twin trunk style. Second photo;- Observe the shorter trunk, it already has a natural soft curve which is really eye pleasing. If you have Bonsai wire you can wire that trunk and start bending it away from the main trunk with continuing the curve from the first leave. A stake can also be used to carefully tie that second trunk to it without reversing the effect of the natural direction of the trunk's initial movement. You could create an awesome starting first branch or the second trunk whichever is your preference. Let the third one develop, as it is actually quite delightful as a formal upright. This is a classic as it is a very easy and basic design shape. Last photo does lend itself to informal upright style. I would suggest with your next potting, plant it so that the main trunk slightly titles toward your left. I would highly encourage you to do a web search on the styles mentioned to see if that would be something that you would like to do with your plants. The idea is to not just grow plants but to also have fun making your plant that is ordinary today into a nice specimen to proudly display in the future! The best way to accomplish this is to begin when the plant is still very young and continue as the plant grows. I would not be concerned about the leaves at this time. If you have not started the feeding program for them now is a good time to start. Hope to Help!

Kids' tastes, likes and dislikes change so much as they grow. What I did when mine were young was go with their favorite colors in solids that washed and wore easily and well. For example, with my son, I went with royal blue for his washable comforter and then added touches of red, green and yellow with his valance (over blackout shades), bedskirt and throw pillows. I then bought poster frames and 5x7" easel back frames that allowed me to quickly, easily and inexpensively change out his art as he grew. The 5x7" frames were perfect for turning "cool" greeting cards into works of art that he could place around his room wherever. We went from zoo animals to dinosaurs to whatever he had a big interest in next. I brought in a long 3-section bookcase and primary colored bins to corral most of his toys and let him display his books and whatever toys he chose on the rest of the shelves. As time went on, I let him pick out printed fabric in "cool guy designs" and made throw pillow covers for his bed. I guess what I'm saying is that I liked to keep things basic so that he could inexpensively and easily choose new art and accent pieces. It was his room, not his decorator mommy's room, he used to like telling his friends and he was always very proud of it. Lynn

All four of my seed grown Meiwa kumquat trees. Largest of my seed grown Meiwa kumquats. -------------------------------------------------------------- Fruitiest of my seed grown Meiwa kumquat. She put on 30 fruit this year and 2 last year. The fruits last year were ripe and low on flavor. A half ripe fruit this year tasted good. Better fruits grow on older trees. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meiwa kumquat second largest of the 4 and the only other one to develop a ripening kumquat What started this spring as #2 fell to #4 in size. This is the only one that has not had a fruit set yet Steve

No clue unless its just in a bad spot..like too much sand or draining too much..not enough organic matter. They are prone to scale which can make them weak but I'm sure you already looked for that. Do they get nematodes? Have you looked at the rootball lately? I might dig it up and look if I couldnt find anything else wrong w it. I have mine in a pot still. I'm a mean plant mommy lol. I just looked up Bay Laurel problems and it mostly talks about fungus phytophthora or Anthracnose. With the Phytopththora, it does list stem die back but also canker like problems. You may have to lift the rootball and see what the roots look like. IME a lot of problems start with the roots and you only see what going on, on top.
