First off, you are aware that the new G5000 series of Miele Dishwashers are supposed to come to the US "sometime" this year? The new(er) La Perla has internal LED lighting and all of them now have redesigned baskets that makes loading dishes and other items more flexible. The Salt reservoir is also back on the door, not the bottom. But to your questions... When I got the Diamante last summer, it also said in the manual to add water to the salt reservoir first. But when I opened it up, it already had water in it, because the installer ran a quick rinse to make sure it was working OK. So I did pour some more water in there, but it only needed about 10oz worth. Then when I added the salt using the funnel, the water overflowed, which is normal (water displacement). Then ran the Express cycle. I have it the water softener set to 4-6 grains. If I increase it to 8-10 grains, there will be some white residue left on some glasses and pots/pans. So I think that if you are having the same thing with white residue, you need to lower the setting on the water softener. I would also highly suggest using the Miele brand detergent tabs and rinse aid. I only have to use half a tab at a time, and get excellent results. For the rinse aid dispenser, I have it set to 1ml (the default is 3ml, and can go as high as 6ml). If I were to change it to 3ml, you can feel it residue on some glasses after, so 1ml works fine. Everything I have washed has come out clean, and I've never had any regrets with the Diamante saying "I wish I went with the higher-end model".

Cat Mom..and all Here are the results of using ½ Miele tab with the China Crystal cycle. I had to add more rinse aid so I added Miele Rinse aid. I have used this cycle only one time since IÂve had this machine and that was washing dusty vases. For that first load there was a prewash with no water change between it and the wash, a 22 minute wash, 2 rinses and dry. The load this week contained my everyday soil and dishes and the cycle consisted of a prewash and water change, followed by a 46 minute wash, 3 rinses instead of 2, and dry. The food Soil: I am stating the type of food so you can get an idea of what types of soils are being cleaned in the loads. This load had similar soil to the other load and consisted of: mixed vegetables, carrots, squash, hot oat bran cereal and rice cereals , pasta(noodles), sautéed mushrooms, falafel with hummus and tahini, spinach, coffee, and tea. There were not quite as many dishes in this load as the previous one but the corning pans used to cook the cereals were included and this is 2 day load. No pre rinsing done. In use: The incoming water for the prewash was 77F. Incoming water for the wash was 100F. Incoming water for the first rinse was 96F, second rinse 107F, and the third rinse was 93F. The water hardness was 13. I measured the inside wash water temperature 30 minutes into the wash. The temperature was 111F. The wash lasted about 16 more minutes. An additional rinse was added followed by the dry. Conclusion: Everything was completely clean. I knew the DW could clean well but I never expected to have clean dishes in a water temp this low. The Miele tabs say they clean well cold water but I really didnÂt believe that either. I expected to find some of the hardened bran or rice or something on the dishes. If you are concerned about high temps and detergent causing etching or anyone wants to hand pre rinse their dishes this cycle maybe perfect. It worked for my everyday load of dishes and ½ of the Miele tab was effective with this dried on soil at this temp. I still donÂt believe this but I looked at the dishes. Water conditions will impact results. I have the language setting on my DW set to British English, so the display uses terms common to that language. The china crystal cycle is displayed with the name "Sensor wash gentle" followed by a picture of a wine glass. So if youÂve got a china crystal cycle youÂve really got a sensor wash using cooler water  but still controlling the temperature as well as the cycle composition and water usage. Check your user manual on the program page. If you see the words "as required" when it describes the parts of the china crystal cycle your DW is using the program and soil sensors to control it. I don't know if other DW have cycles using temperatures this low, and I don't know how other detergents may perform at 111F, but the Miele tabs, even 1/2 of it, seem to work well.

My older Miele DW had Sequence lights to indicate what phase of the program it was in. The first light was Softener. The DW would only do this step once in a while, where it would draw a bit of water, then sit, draw more, then sit, draw more then sit, then it would drain, then start the prewash. This took about 3 or 4 minutes. The frequency of this operation would increase if you set the water softener to work on harder water. The manaul described this as water softener regeneration. My new model has the softener that adjusts itself to the hardness but it does something similar but there is no indication of it, you have to watch for it. It will start the drain pump and while it is running, a bit of water will come in then stop, then a bit of water, then stop. All of this is done while the drain pump is running and the display says PREWASH like it normally would. It doesn't take 3 or 4 minutes only 1 or 2. The manual says that the water should be softened if your tap water hardness is over 8 gr/gal otherwise not to fill the softener with salt,so I would think that they are aiming for something under this amount. There is was also a technical paper that mentioned that the water softener is consumption linked and so will regenerate based on that, and that the softener exchanges sodium ions for calcium and magnesium. The regeneration step is done to refresh the resin. I am no chemist or engineer just reporting what the info is saying. I also read something from Miele ( of course I don't remember where I read it) where they described the softener as proportional or something like that. Anyway I think what they were saying was that it doesn't soften all of the water on the way in. It detects the hardness and only softens some of it for each fill. I could also be nuts but I think that is what I read. I use the salt sold my local appliance store. They sell Somat DW salt and it works OK in my DW. One box lasts over a year so you can look for that if you can find it cheaper than what Miele sells.

I found the following online, FWIW. My niece used to work at an extremely busy TJ’s in San Francisco. She said her training focused very heavily on customer service. The length of training might depend on store location. New Trader Joe’s employees don’t rush to start working right away, but get at least a day’s worth of training from introductory videos and one-on-one sessions with managers, or “mates.” As well as going over the basics of treating customers well, they reportedly also cover small but crucial skills like properly bagging groceries. Store managers are expected to go even further by attending TJ University, which runs two-day classes focused on leadership and team building skills that can apply in running the store and beyond. Even beyond their initial hiring or promotion, employees still stay informed about Trader Joe’s latest offerings. Before (and hopefully after) the current pandemic, stores held regular tasting panels for crew members to sample new food and wine products before they reached the shelves, all the better to answer customers’ questions and advise their shopping. “They don’t want us to recommend new products just for the sake of it,” says the Seattle-area employee. “They want us to actually try it, and if we like it, we can say that confidently, but if we don’t like it, they want us to be honest.”
