BM Simply White paint finish for Kitchen cabs/trim?
Comments (6)I painted trim in our last house with aura and it held up fine. We were only in that house for about 18 months so I can't say anything about durability for longer than that. I recently painted a dresser with advance based on the advice at my local paint source. I found it very hard to work with. They told me it would have a longer open time, but I found it to have an incredibly short open time. Maybe my particular weather at the time I was painting. But it oddly also had a long drying time for me. So it was difficult to work quickly enough while painting, yet I had to wait a full twenty four hours or longer between coats to be able to sand the brush marks, etc that I couldn't get out during painting due to the short open time. It was weird and frustrating. I would suggest buying a small quantity and painting with it to see what you think. There are additives for extending open time, I'm not sure if they are compatible with advance. If you have the same issue I did, maybe a paint shop can make some recommendation to help. The end result is that the finish is very nice, except on the top of the dresser I was painting, where I never could get it quite right....See MoreHelp BM Simply White walls, trim and cabinets??
Comments (1)First I would do the ceiling the same color as the walls I like matte for walls and ceilings and then a satin for trim as for the cabinets they will need to be done by an actual cabinet refinisher with conversion varnish so you can go the same color but they will look a bit different every time you change the sheen the color catches the light differently so keep that in mind. I am not sure why the cabinets need painting , I actually love the way the paint is now in the house....See MoreBM Simply White or Snowfall White as wall color?
Comments (4)Test both in huge samples on your walls. All color varies with exposure and its setting. Nobody here has YOUR room or your house. Paint the whole wall. There is no better way. In fact, to truly know is to paint all four walls. Simply white is warmer, but can take on a yellow green cast depending time of day, and exposure. If you are trying to paint a dim room into the light? I never find that successful. Try a "color" versus white and yes white is a color. white is at it's best in lots of natural light, multiple exposures. . A primarily northern exposure generally is not that. A "swatch" is several feet by several feet, and on several walls. : ) Best way is LARGE poster boards and move them around.......or just roll. All paint needs two coats, anyway. Your trim choice also matters....See MoreSimply white (BM) or white dove(BM) for kitchen cabinets
Comments (11)You can’t go wrong with either Simply White or White Dove for kitchen cabinets. Both look great with dark countertops and gold accents. Some of my favorite projects have been Simply White, especially with dark countertops. But if you are feeling stuck or need more ideas for white kitchen cabinets and how to pair them with countertops, we’ve written posts on both to help you decide....See MoreEl G
