Sunny Knockout -- I Found Some
Comments (15)I have 12 KO's and they are all fragrant. Both the red and the pink. I was surprised. They are evergreen here in AL. I like the single only, the double is too "fussy" LOL. I saw the Yellow KO 2 weeks ago at Lowes and was very tempted but I have so little space . I also saw a lovely new carpet rose and it was fragrant which my current pink ones around the fountain aren't. I didn't get any of that either although I could have squeezed them in. Sigh...GGG I do need that acre....c...See MoreSome plant bargains at Wal-mart
Comments (10)Hi I frequently shop WM as I MUST help with groceries and it gives me something to look at lol. The secret is to dig lol. Eventually you'll find some really great bargains as well as some unusual types but requires a constant vigil. lol Some that I've gotten there Black bat plants .7 bucks ,flowering size Maxilaria orchids 20 bucks but had 25 flowers in hanging basket. Hybrid Phaius orchids in a very unusual red and brown color. Key lime as well as a pink lemon tree .20 bucks for both. 30 bucks each for the same plants from the same co, at HD. Tree form Hibiscus at over 4 feet for 8. The trick is to know your plants ignore the labels and NEVER expect any help lol. Just recently I was actually waited upon while digging through some palms. Okay the truth is he probably thought I was shop lifting. lol I asked him some questions and he quickly disappeared lol But he did get me a price on some stuff without any threats or lugging all the way to the register. I look it as a "safari" you'll never know what you'll find and better yet I don't have to look at groceries for an hour . gary...See MoreWalmart Parade mini roses, quick question
Comments (11)Minis frequently will lose their leaves after being moved from a greenhouse environment to a garden setting. Be sure to keep them well watered and provide bottom drainage. Since minis are on their own roots, if they dry out, they will die. Keep the pot elevated so that water can drain freely. 92 degrees is pretty warm and often minis will stop blooming and growing once the temperatures go over 80-85 degrees to give the plant a chance to rest. What size pot are they presently growing in? Sometimes a small pot will heat up even more. Plastic pots are better than clay pots as the soil will dry out more quickly through the sides of a clay pot. Minis do very well in a large pot like a half whisky barrel. Hope this is helpful. Comments (3)Did you get Altissimo? Here is a link to its page on Help Me Find Roses: Altissimo. It is a highly regarded rose in my area. I saw it in a private garden and the sun made the blooms glow. It was really something! The plant seems very stiff and upright. I also saw it at the Huntington Gardens in California. Some of the canes were tied to the wall, but some were left free standing, because they were too short to tie up yet....See MoreVaporvac Z6-OhioRiverValley
