We sure did and they don't make it anymore. I was so happy, we knew what we wanted--a repeat of what we have, a two sided pillow top. WE still found it comfortable and supportive but we were creating a guest room and needed a second queen..nope we cannot replicate it. The one we did get--is not near as comfortable.

Here are some recent threads specifically about latex mattresses. I'd never buy anything else and especially not a memory foam (which is not latex anyway). I bought a zenhaven for my guest room and everyone seems to love it. I had to send the first one back because it was an undersized queen, however, so I'd watch the measurements if you order one. I went Latex based on advice here. We got the Zenhaven from Saatva. I really love it. My husband preferred our old memory foam but that was hurting my back.

Jlsch, we bought a locally manufactured mattress here in NY.

I bought an innerspring made by Verlo. I have been disappointed with it. It is too hard. In the winter I use a memory foam topper and then it is very comfy but it gets too hot when the weather warms up. I’ll try a latex mattress next but I am concerned that they have no edge support. Verlo has a lifetime warranty and they will adjust it at any time, which part of the reason I bought it. Wouldn’t you know my local franchise went out of business! Grrr.

I like the feel of plush, but the firm I laid on in the store felt like plush. When it arrived it felt firmer than I liked, so I got a nice plush mattress cover and I've been in heaven ever since. It's my favorite mattress ever. I tried a Casper (memory foam) and hated it.

I think we've had it for about 3 years now and we are still very happy with it. They are expensive, but other pricey mattresses seemed to fail 18 months later, so the Carpe Diem bed system might turn out to be a good investment if it keeps performing.

Like you, DH and I were having back pain because of an aging innerspring. Bought a zenhaven after reading so many mattress threads here, and we love it! It did take us a while to be convinced that latex was right for us, but the eventual loss of back pain sold us. I feel so good now!

For those of you with zenhaven, does it have good edge support? If you push your hands dow on the edge of the mattress to leave ft yourself, does it sink down or provide support?

Latex mattresses have equal support from edge to edge because they are a solid piece of foam and not different at the edges like innerspring mattresses. So, yes, the zenhaven has good support at the edge. It has one side that is a bit softer than the other, but even the softer side is very supportive.

More edge support than memory foam, but less than innerspring. That was the main thing we had to adjust to.

Thanks. I have wondered about that. The memory foam mattresses I tried were very mushy at the edges. As you age you need that support to lift yourself, or so I am told. ;)

For those interested in Latex - CR has rated Sleep on Latex as a good firm one.

We recently bought a mattress with an adjustable platform from Mattress Firm for the MBR at our vacation house. Love it!

We also have a McRoskey and love it. We’ve had it 14 years. I would get another one in a heartbeat.

We have a latex mattress from SleepEZ. It's been life-changing after trying to get by with a blow-up bed and latex topper. I don't wake up in pain, feel supported as a side sleeper while DH's side is firmer for a stomach sleeper, and we both really love it. I'm not understating things when I say it's improved our quality of life after making do.

About 10 years ago we bought a 100% latex mattress (floor model!) from Denver Mattress. It still looks and feels like new.

I switched to latex many years ago and never went back to springs, never would actually.

Since then I've bought several mattresses from Brooklyn Bedding-they used to be a mix of latex and synthetic foam, then they switched to hybrid with latex and springs as a base. I have one of each and both are incredibly comfortable.

We have a firm memory foam from Macy's. Overall, I didn't like memory foam but the firm one is good. But i will certainly check out latex when it is time to replace. The one we have is maybe 6 years old. ??

We have a latex mattress that we love but be warned, solid latex weighs a ton. They are very dense and don't have a frame. Flipping or moving them is like trying to move a giant dead weight that flops and folds and turns and bends.

We've moved often and every mover who has touched it mentions how difficult it is to maneuver.

I have had my latex mattress from SleepEz also it is now ten years old and still perfect.i got the queen size with 3layers soft medium and firm on my side and also the same on the other. You can switch the layers around to suit your needs. If you call them, they will help you out.

D_gw, you’re right it is dense, which may be why in part that some manufacturers sell them in layers as opposed to just a solid piece. We love ours, especially since the firmness on each side can be customized to the needs of the person sleeping on it.

lukki, our solid latex is older, we purchased it about 15 years ago. It is a queen, all one piece. Moving that thing is like trying to wrangle a giant octopus :) I'm glad to hear they are available in more manageable layers.

We have a Sleep Number bed, so old that the company was still called Select Comfort. It must be at least 20 years old, maybe 25. It's king size but has two air mattresses inside, so each can have the firmness they desire. My side has a slow leak that is getting worse, but the pump still works fine so I can reinflate it whenever I want.

They have lots of models including ones that stay cool and ones where the head can raise and lower.

We love it, and when we finally decide to replace it we'll probably get another one.

We had a Sleep Number for several years but gave to DD when we moved into this house with larger master bdrm (the SN is now at least 15 y.o.) . We then went to a king and another airbed which is about 10 y.o. now. I doubt I'll ever switch from an airbed. The back ache I'd developed in our previous beds disappeared and has never returned.
