Do you REALLY like your clear glass shower?
Comments (33)Does anyone have pictures of using curtains outside the glass enclosure? Curious how it looks. Has anyone used frosted/ matte privacy film and then removed it because you were in a rental or selling? Curious how long it lasted, did it get dirty or yellow, how did you clean it, and how well/ easily did it come off? We are facing the same dilemma regarding clear shower glass enclosures for 2 different showers. I don't want to see any family members showering or be seen. I don't think it's sexy when people actually really clean themselves with a washcloth/ loofah, shave themselves, use a foot-scrubber, etc. People need privacy to clean their private parts. I love how people say lock the door etc. The reality is all families are different with different routines. There are bathroom stress times with larger families; especially in homes with only 2 bathrooms. A cheap way to clean glass shower doors is to dilute DAWN dish soap liquid in a spray bottle. Spray glass and you can use a wet paper towel to rub it all over the glass too. Let it sit 10 to 15 minutes. You can either use a squeegee to get it off or rinse it off and then squeegee the water off or use microfiber towel. Dawn will not cause any damage to the glass or stone tile. I have seen people adding vinegar to the solution; the amount of vinegar added lessens the wait time and can add a pungent smell if lots of vinegar is added. Vinegar should not be used if you have any natural stone tile. Note: This Old House uses Dawn dish soap with vinegar & baking soda to clean grout lines and then re-seals the grout....See MoreDo you like ginger? I mean really, really like ginger?
Comments (42)I absolutely love ginger, but I wasn't able to post to this before. I also love ginger flowers and have several types of ginger in my yard now. The blue ginger is blooming right now (see link below), but I also have red and white gingers, none of which are edible, but some of the flowers have very nice fragrances that are quite unique. As for edible ginger, I keep a jar of ginger paste (from an Indian market) that I use in soups, marinades, and stir fries, but not desserts. For desserts, I use ginger that I keep in the freezer. I should probably grow edible ginger. I bought ginger snaps at TJ's last week-end (along with some other more decadent cookies), but I think I should have made them myself. They were good but not quite gingery enough. I don't have any dried ginger. Lars Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreAnyone have a Wolf gas cooktop? Or another cooktop you really like?
Comments (12)I agree that the Wolf cook tops are nice - my parents just did a massive renovation (gutting) of an entire house - and they put a Wolf 5 burner cook top in - granted it's not the commercial scorch your eyebrows of the BlueStar and others in that sphere, but I have cooked on it several times and think for the everyday cook it is just fine - and has a nice fit/finish to it (at least to my eye). We are just starting to build a new home and I will be looking very hard at the 36 inch Wolf range top (I want and would use an integrated griddle quite a bit - so want to do a little research and hand's on experimentation on that part before I make a final decision)...See MoreAre any of you having a really bad time with this site like me??
Comments (4)Two things for me. Latest unread posts are not green but heavy black. When I tap on the title, it then turns green. Once read, the titles turn grey. So if it is heavy black, I know it is a new post. That little arrow, upper left, does not work. I have to go back by tapping on the Forum title. Now this is on an ipad, I haven't checked on the computer. I did check the computer and the results are the same. Theresa...See MoreOlychick
