This was what we saw yesterday morning. 6 Chinook helicopters in a row flying so low my windows shook, the whole house shook and things on the shelves fell. It scared the beejeepers out of us. Literally thought something was falling on the house. Didn't do my heart any good!

rob, I'd "like" your picture, but I can't ... not with that flooding issue. So sorry you have to deal with that mess! Been there, done that.

All I know is, I'm gonna have massive glutes (loads of five gallon buckets full of water up and down stairs) by the end of this weekend. The electrical panel is five or six feet off the floor. The hot water heater is inches off the floor. If I can keep it below those levels, it should be ok. Wish me luck!

Good luck Rob! We were fortunate at the old house that we had a basement door and a drain in the bottom of the landing outside as the ground sloped down away from the house in the back...so all we had to do was get the water out of the basement and to the drain. We rigged up a siphon so it kept the water level only a couple of inches high at most, with or without electricity.

Oh Rob, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. Are you in Tennessee? Can you rent a pump to put in your basement? And you don't have your son there to help you! If wishes were helpers.... Good wishes that the water stays down!

Rob, I feel for you. I've been battling leaking windows for the last two weeks. I don't mean a little water in the tracks. I mean waterfalls flowing from the bottom of the fixed panes. I've dried so many loads of towels that my gas and electric bills will be adversely affected. I finally was able to get the handyman in to seal everything with silicone until I can get the windows replaced.

Rob.....I really feel for you. Wish I lived closer....to help.

Sorry to see your water problems, rob. Before I got my sump pump put in, I would have to shop vac as much as 100 gallons of water whenever it rained this hard. So I feel your pain. We are currently between storms, so I am thankful for the sunshine today. This is a picture from a few years ago of Fred and Carmelita enjoying the sunlight coming in.

Rob, im so sorry to see what you have been dealing with - how awful. Makes the power outage we had last week seem like a minor inconvenience. I hope the water recedes soon.
