Comments (17)I can't find any photos for today's theme, I must have the deleted the blurry one of our local volunteer fire department riding though our neighborhood the day before Christmas with Santa waving from the top. This is the best I can do. DH's grandfather was a police officer and he still remembers the many safety lessons he was taught as a child, including fire safety. As a result we have quite a few fire extinguishers - this is the little one next to his work shop in the garage....See MoreI'll show you mine/you show me yours - Su 2/21/21
Comments (73)I cant say that it is very different from the love I feel for my daughter and sons. But, there is a special happiness from knowing our family is expanding to another generation. Our three kids are now 37, 34 (DD) and 29. We privately wondered if we would ever be blessed with grandchildren. The two boys (I should probably call them men at this point) are still light years from marriage. We are hoping DD and SIL will have another. He is from a family of four kids and his sister is having a fourth child, so SIl’s family culture is for larger families. . Fingers crossed!...See MoreI'll show you mine/you show me yours - Th 7/22/21
Comments (27)Jrb, unfortunately not very long. She laid eggs and they weren't fertile. ( She laid one while sitting on my shoulder, and it broke when it hit the floor). Not long after that, I found a pigeon under an underpass that had been hit by a car. He was injured, but recovered, and could fly but ended up blind in one eye. (I think I named him Junior). Anyway, they mated and had 2 babies. Hue was outside and a hawk got her. Junior continued raising the babies. I put them outside in a large cage and began feeding a flock of wild pigeons. When the wild ones were used to coming for food, I released Junior and the babies, and they joined the flock. I've raised several pigeons, including one named Checkers that I found in a trash can at Lowe's, completely covered in tar....See MoreI'll show you mine/you show me yours - Th 8/12/21
