Beautiful selections. I like pendants #3 and #4. #4 is best if you want to match the Edison bulbs. #3 is best if you want true color light in your work area. Please be aware that Edison bulbs will give off a yellowish light.

AC LB I love the Pottery Barn ones too. Now - they are oil rubbed bronze and my chandelier is black but they may be ok!

What are the dimensions of the island and diameter of each pendant? That matters.

My island countertop (which is where the 2 pendants will go) is only 57 x 37 1/2. I think that 13" pendant is going to be too large. :( I think I need to stick with a 9-10 inch wide pendant.

The only expensive pendant is the one from Restoration Hardware. I LOVE that island pendant but unfortunately I don't have the room! Thank you all - and yes - Houzz was a mess yesterday!

Hey Dyan-- I am having fun looking at all the selections and getting confused.

I am really liking #3- the one that is more elongated. That looks like size wise is narrower and very interesting and also has good (non Edison) lighting. When I said #4 I was actually looking at this one - to be clear- seeded glass and elongated. Is that one super spendy or is there a reason it is not being considered?

OH no - that one is fine price wise. The Restoration Hardware one was over 1,000 for two pendants. I made cut outs yesterday of the different sizes and held them up over my island. I think I'm going too big. I need to keep it under 10 inches. Therefore, the one you like is probably the only one out of these that would work. My island is not big, and is very close to my table with this chandelier. Just to make sure because my pictures are not showing right now for some reason, I think you are liking this one?

What do you think of this one?

Houzz is indeed very very very wonky lately. This is the one I am really liking. I was assuming you were saying the others were too big width wise but I guess you are saying height wise?

I think both of the ones you just posted are lovely- but it looks like those are the Edison bulbs? I have never had that, but
people seem to say it is an awkward light. I guess if you have additional lighting that is not a concern?

I love that one too and I can finally see the picture! My sister who is very outspoken (ha) told me she thought the shape was "out of date" but I still like it! Thank you for your advice.

Dyan - since you already have recessed lighting, what if you went with a smaller version of the chandelier over the island instead of pendants?

I'm sorry I don't have pictures to post yet (am waiting to repaint) but I have a smaller island too and I went with a matching close-to-ceiling drum light from the same collection that my hanging drum light over my kitchen table is from. I like how they coordinate and have gotten a lot of compliments on them.

I like pendant #1 but think pendant #2 would fit better with the chandelier. I don't see any photos for #3 and #4.

It's ok lynartist - thank you for posting those pics! I did go to a lighting store today. Some of the ones I thought I liked - I did NOT like in person! You are right - it's better to get an idea of what I want and then go into a lighting store and get help! Sorry for the confusion on the kitchen pics. I'm so glad to get rid of that red and green kitchen! When I get my new cabinets in and finished I will post more pics!
