Teeny Tiny Powder Room - on a teenier budget
Comments (17)This is the fan image from Lowes.com which is where I bought two of these fans. Visit the link because there are 17 reviews of this model, mostly satisfied, very few have any problem at all with it. And the sink in my bath I bought from Vintage Bath. It is a Porcher ELFE. It has good reviews too. Built in Canada. At the Vintage website, you can find specs. It measures 9.5" deep, 20" wide. I had selected another larger sink for this spot, but once the contractor took 10" off the depth of the bathroom, I had to find another option. This is the tiniest sink in the tiniest 3/4 bath in the WORLD, at least in a house not a boat! I would choose the gooseneck faucet for it though, to give better access to the small basin area. It is drilled for single hole and has no overflow, so my drain plug is the popup kind. Of course there is not a lot of room, but we have no trouble navigating the space to dry off after a shower. There is adequate room between the front of the toilet and the sink. Here is a photo of the bath with the door closed (French door panes not yet sprayed though) and the straight-on view into the space. I hesitate to call it a "room," you know. :) Showing the space between the sink and the toilet: ....the space where the sink and shower meet If the door to your powder room is not exactly in the corner, but even as little as 9 or 10 inches away from the corner, you'd have room for the ELFE sink mounted flat on the wall. The other sink I had originally purchased, also from Vintage Tub was this one, 14" deep x 24" wide. Since I had it, I decided to put it in our master bath, not completed yet. It is the Cheviot Nova wall mount win a side shelf, very convenient. I put another Price Pfister faucet on it. There are many good ratings for this sink also, so visit Vintagetub.com to read them, if you have the space for this sink. Hope I did not miss answering anything. Comments (4)I tried BM Revere Pewter in our small, no-natural-light bathroom and it was pretty dark. If you want a lighter blue-grey, try BM Moonshine or BM Gray Wisp (which is the same as Restoration Hardware Silver Sage)....See MoreTiny vintage powder room needs something
Comments (39)It's all great except for the towel ring! (And the roller shade, but you've addressed that!) Very pretty room. I bet my windowless powder room is even smaller than yours ;) If I were you, I'd ditch the towel ring and put a very simple hook centered under the window, and use fingertip towels instead of full-size hand towels. We have little hooks for towels in all of our bathrooms. I wouldn't get too decorative with it, just a simple hook that doesn't come out too far from the wall. I am also a fan of window film. There are lots of options online, from basic etched glass to more decorative patterns. In your case, I'd go simple....See Moretiny powder room
Comments (23)juliab51 thanks for your feedback on living with a 3x8 room painted dark. It's hard for me to visualize anything, so I'm worried it will feel too small. (I'll also have a pocket door). Your vanity looks great. I was trying to figure out how they fit that dresser in the room (I had assumed I'd need to order a custom cabinet.). It looks like maybe the dresser is 1-2" narrower and they trimmed it out so the trim looks like part of the furniture (and then painted it all the same color). If so, that's brilliant. Unfortunately, I don't have a dresser that size and I'd still be on the hook for a custom fabricated counter (my understanding is that fabrication alone is more than $1k--more than the price of the entire console sink with stand). But I love that look and would do it if I were married to a fabricator ;) HALLETT & Co. thanks for your feedback. I'd love to put a medicine cabinet in there (and love the look of yours) but I don't think I can do one recessed. (we haven't demo-ed yet, but it seems unlikely, based on where we think the studs are). So you installed all tile on that one wall only? Interesting. I like that you have a bunch of art on the walls. I'm considering put original paintings in there, maybe one over the toilet and one across from the doorway when you walk in. But you did a bunch of art. Inspiring!!! (and yeah, it looks like juliab51has lots of art too. This might be a way to go (vs. using wallpaper)...See MoreUser
