Miele USA Service Problems - Anyone else having issues?
Comments (149)I am so upset by what I am reading and what I have experienced over the last 12 years .. I am in the process of two major kitchen remodels and have 6 more to complete before I have them all done. Based on what I am reading here and on the internet blogs, I have ended up unwilling to order ANY new appliances. Over the last 12 years the only things I have purchased that have had great customer service are my Jura Capressa coffee makers and my Tempurpedic mattressses. All other purchases have been major headaches or outright nightmares. I am at the point that buying anything at all literally makes me sick at my stomach (and this is not just because I am a guy who does not enjoy shoppping in general). I have noticed that I have become openly hostile to sales people in general. With very few exceptions, I have never met a "sales" person who had even the scant ethics of even a democrat politician. The fact that I am now expected to buy appliances from one of these ingenuine sociopathic sales types is so upsetting that I have my two kitchen remodels on hold. I have great inset all wood custom cabinets with great custom granite counters ... and no appliances. Friends of mine in CA hate their Miele, friends in Henderson Nevada hate their Subzero and Dacor, friends in NY hate their Monogram, friends in Naples Florida hate their AGA and Viking, friends in the Netherlands hate their Miele, friends in Carmel Indiana hate their Traulson and Miele, friends in Arizona hate their Kitchen Aid ... and it goes on and on with nightmare after nightmare of new appliances defective out-of-the-box, incompetent installers, unethical distributors, sales people that grab the big commissions and then can't even return follow up calls, manufacturers that don't honor their warranty committments or try to stong arm the very customers that their business should be treating with dignity and integrity. To add insult to injury, many regional better business bureaus rate these retailers and businesses A+. No wonder consumers have stopped purchasing ... it is not the recession that has stopped people from making major purchases, but, rather, the expectation that after-purchase headaches will take months and months to resolve with stress levels higher than paying for your childrens' college educations. Short of having an attorney produce a contract that the appliance supplier has to sign and be held to legally, does anyone out there have any other magic process. A process that assures the customer won't be setting themselves up for an extremely stressful experience with underpaid customer disservice departments trained by the Insurance claims industry to intimidate and wear down the customer to a point of having to just give up? signed - a potential appliance customer in limbo...See MoreWhen does Miele come out with new dishwashers?
Comments (40)When I first saw the new baskets and 3D cutlery tray (on the UK site) last year, I also wondered how much they would cost, and it they could even fir in the other models. When I was at the Miele showroom last month, they said they expected the new units in around mid-June. I asked them about seeing if the baskets from the new models would fit the older models. I think the only way to know, is to try it out. I was going to call back up there next week and see if they have an update as to when they expect the new units in. But a few weeks ago I called the Miele parts department and they didn't have any info yet on the new models, or even the part numbers for the new baskets. But if I'm able to find out that the new baskets can fit in the older units, then I'd be interested in seeing how much those new baskets cost, once the Parts department gets them in. If it would cost a lot, then maybe just do one at a time....See MoreMiele DW - Horrid service, think twice before buying!!
Comments (26)I didn't misrepresent anything. The dealer was fine to come out this far to install the thing, but then won't come to service it. I think that's Miele's problem to fix, but we may disagree on it. Again, I didn't buy this off the internet and install it myself, I had a Miele authorized dealer install it at full price but when I need service I'm told I'm on my own. If you read my post, that's the point - service may be great in big city, but in small town it's certainly not and initially before a lot of argument on our part Miele would NOT talk with any non-authorized tech so we were caught in catch-22 (no authorized tech would come, but they will only speak with authorized tech...) If you think a tech making a drive is worth $100/hr, well then I guess you've got a lot more money than we do, but regardless they refused to come at all - they didn't even offer to come at $x/rate. At this point we've got a local tech coming tomorrow, hopefully with the "backordered" part for our "out of date" 2 year old dishwasher and will see what happens. I've yet to ask my wife if she spoke with the same number you're giving me, I know she spent at least 30-60 min arguing with Miele to get any help at all but I want to see if that's the number she called. Have been too busy with other life jobs to have that conversation but will try today before (independent local) tech comes tomorrow...See MoreNew Miele Coffee Systems - Cleaning the milk lines
Comments (10)"I know it works because you can see the milk pipework (the intake pipes are clear glass) and watch the behavior of both cleansers in action." oh wow! I saw it so it must be true. This is almost as good as : "I read it on the internet" Do you have long term data and use to support your conclusions? What if your just a bit off and someone shortens the life or even ruins their $3000 coffee maker or their health? It's got nothing to do with being servile to the man. Descaling agents for water systems are almost always acetic acid tablets. So changing one brand for another manufactured and labled for the same PURPOSE poses little risk. Using oxyclean for a purpose not stated by them is a bit more reckless. It may very well be the same thing, but what if it's not? Until you can show me a scientific analysis or a LONG TERM study it's just plain irresponsible to suggsest a substitute chemical because you've seen it work once. Crack was the latest and greatest thing for a while in the rec. stimulant trade for a while. Better, faster, cheaper, more widely distributed. Then everyone found out it was way more addictive, and way more lethal from certain tweeks made to batches on the chemical level. To the new adoptor that liked to be ahead of everybody else and save a few dollars it looked like a sure thing too....See Morenosoccermom
