White Macaubas with some "rust" in veins
Comments (17)ppbenn, cat_mom, karin_mt, arizonalady1: Well..., I hope we are all right! I bought the slabs. Thanks so much! So happy to be beyond debating this decision with myself, and your input helped move me along. Now to figure out what should go on the perimeter? I feel another thread coming along... Thanks again!...See Morechoosing quartz countertops: veined or grained?
Comments (20)I think design is changing faster than it ever has and it's hard to keep up with it. Just because I bought something only a few years ago doesn't mean that it's not already dated. My house was built in 1999 and the finishes that were used caught the tail end of the 90s trends so it was already dated when it was built. When we remodeled our guest bath four years ago, we bought Giallo Ornamamental Light granite for the small vanity because it was the only cream-colored remnant we could find and we had guests coming. Shortly afterwards, someone here referred to speckled granites as "dog vomit granite". I thought to myself "Yep, that's my GO." I can try to convince myself that it's a popular granite but the truth is, it's not used much anymore. I wish I'd had more choices at the time but I did not. I just took a peek at Cambria and they call their speckled quartz the Classic collection and they have not added new colors since I looked at kitchen countertops six years ago....See MoreI need HELP with white quartz selection
Comments (8)Overall I'm happy with this choice. I wanted something very quiet because we have a visually dominant tile behind the stove. Our island is a different quartz, also quiet although much more 'stone-like' in look than the Ariel but a different color, not white. I've had other real stones before and find quartz a bit easier to live with - no sealing. You have to use trivets or some kind of hot pad before placing anything from the oven on it but technically I think you're supposed to do that with most natural stones as well although I never did. We did have one small issue with the quartz itself (not fabrication) that has been resolved to our satisfaction - someone else might feel differently....See MoreNeed a simple white quartz to go with Kraft Maid Dove White cabinets
Comments (61)@Lisa I do have a question for you! The thing that concerns me about Cambria is the heat comments. I would never put a hot pan on any countertop. BUT what about things like an All Clad Slow Cooker? Moccamaster or Nespresso Coffee maker? Instant Pot? What things like this needs something under them to use? Air Fryer.. I would think Vitamix would be fine? I think it would look awful to always have something under the coffee make or Vitamix. The other things are not kept on the counter. I have never had to use something under them with the granite countertops. I don't Have to go with quartz. If I do go with quartz it will definitely be Cambria. I thought about going with marble but I am a messy cook! I still want to see your blue when I go back to the beach. (My husband seems to be set on Cambria white! But that might be more due to him being tired of ldiscussions about the countertop.)...See MoreSarah Powers
