What is the name of that granite? It is beautiful!

This is the white quartz I got for my kitchen, you can see the name in the pic. Maybe see if your place has it? It’s a pretty solid white, granted my cabinets will be blue not white.

I got another VERY white quartz for my shower I don’t know the brand but the name of it was dessert. I had marble white in shower and wanted as close to a match for quartz and couldn’t be happier. The thought of the whites clashing was stressing me out. Pic of that too for ref :) good luck!

@Carol Demas Thanks! I think that might be the backsplash. I am pretty sure I am going to go with Cambria Smithfield. I hope it is cool not warm. It is whiter than the other Cambria colors. I am concerned about there being only a couple of Cambria approved installers in the area. I went to a store that has samples of Cambria but they are not on their list. I do not want to lose my warranty. 🤷‍♀️A girl at the Cambria location near my actual home said they had a great installer in Calabash, NC. But that company is not on their website as one of their installers either. Thoughts?

From my showroom travels, the whitest one that Cambria makes is Ivybridge but you probably don't want that one because it has dark teal veining. I have samples of Seacourt, Dovestone, and Whitendale and they are all a bit darker than Ivybridge, similar to each other, I'd say neutral white but with lots of light grey, looking almost pixelated (those tiny little dots) infused.

The other white whites I have samples of are Viatera Etude and Caesarstone Empira White. I really love both of them. A third love was Corian brand Ethereal White quartz. These three really jumped out in the showroom in terms of whiteness. The countertop guy agreed!

I think you had either plan on traveling to see Smithfield before you buy it or at least secure a sample so that you can see the background color! Also you will need to stick with one of their approved installers to be safe. I'm committed to one vendor because they get great reviews and my contractor prefers them. I need peace of mind and service after the sale if there are any issues.

I decided to wait until my cabinets are in before I choose. They are in my family room at the moment but still in boxes.

I just visited a Cambria showroom a couple days ago, and the woman there told me smithfield has the brightest white background they make. In my opinion it leans cool, or at least not at all warm. I hate beige and off-white so I'm picky, and I do like Smithfield.

What is the material you are using for the Island? Looks like a quartzite... it's beautiful!

I have seen all of the white Cambrias. They actually have a place near us. I thought it was in Charlotte. Smithfield is the whitest background. I have decided to do exactly like you are @Carol Demas. I am going to wait until the cabinets are installed. They will be delivered 3/30 but I am not sure when the contractor will install them. @Renée Soronen I have Alabaster White at home. I want a real white at this condo. I saw a pretty backsplash on Instagram today. They were asked by several people what the backsplash was. They did not respond. :(

Cambria Smithfield is subtle and beautiful. It has soft veining, is easy to accessorize and does not compete with surroundings A very clean look, not stark.

I’ve attached a close-up photo of mine. (Construction not complete.) It shows the area with the most pattern. My dealer allowed me to bring home large display samples prior to purchasing to see how it looked at home. I find it to be slightly warm in my home. I did much brand homework and am very happy I chose Cambria.

@Carol Demas How is your kichen going? Are your cabinets installed? My contractor said two weeks. That is his favorite answer.

Cabinets are in except for shelves and pulls. Range hood is in. New exterior door is in. New 4000K lights are in. Countertop template is May 2. Still need to put in new pantry doors and frame and paint rooms and new exterior doors. The red pine adjacent room is also getting painted.

My contractor comes about every day but only for an hour or two. He is also building houses at the moment.

@Carol Demas I love them! My contractor keeps saying in 2 weeks. My spouse called him yesterday and he tried that with him. He insisted on him commiting to two weeks. We will ask for our deposit back and hire someone else if he is not there in two weeks this time. I hired him the beginning of November. Originally he was supposed to start January 1st. If he hasn't started this time we will hire someone else. :( Which quartz was your final decision?

I know it's difficult. I went with a contractor who had done some excellent work for me about 5 years ago. I found him through the recommendation of my plumber and then decided it was better to wait for his availability than to try to find someone else. But I've been waiting for an estimate on the bathroom from him for about 8 months now, though!

Edited to add: I think I got lucky. The cabinets (Kraftmaid Vantage) were perfect. No issues!

@Carol Demas When is your quatz being installed? Great job getting those picures. It does help! I think my Dove White will match Smithfield. It is so hard with different lighting. I keep looking at quartzite, but I do keep going back to Smithfield. I hope the quality is good for a kichen. I am curious if the side of the @CAMBRIA COUNTERTOPS are white or is the Smithfield color on the sides of the countertop? It is on the edges/sides of Ironsbridge.

Elaine_M, the color goes through the slab so you will see the design on the sides. My next-door neighbor and my brother prefer Cambria and my contractor prefers Viatera Scorpio.

The best color matches for Dove White are Caesarstone Empira White and the Viateras (Lumina, Etude, Muse, Adagio Gold). But since the Cambrias have splotches of pure white in them, they go, too.

I put down a deposit on Miami Vena which is fine when you look down from above but not so good when you look from the side (too pink).

I am two weeks away from templating and don't have an install date yet. It's not too late to change my order.

Too many horror stories with quartzite. The only one I haven't heard bad things about is Taj Mahal which is beige. But the white ones, as well as white granite, will stain.

@Elaine _M Yes, the pattern of Smithfield is on the sides. If your retailer will allow you to bring home a large square to see in your lighting at different times of day, its helpful.

Cambria place near my home and they gave me a 3"x3" piece. There was a round chunk broken off of one of their slabs and it was white. That is why I was wondering. I am going to have it installed at a condo we bought at the beach.

Elaine_M, sometimes the sample is too small to show the pattern. If you get to see a slab you will see the pattern/color goes all the way through the depth.

I finally decided on Silestone Eternal Statuario. It is whiter on the sides than Miami Vena, which is pinkish. Also it has prettier veins. I was afraid to go with any of the Viateras because nobody near me had a full slab that I could see.

It might be worthwhile. Also consider Viatera Lumina and Etude as they are extremely white whites as well, but probably less expensive than Cambria.

@Carol DemasThe white on Smithfield is very white. I compared that little white one to al of the whites they had on display at Cambria by where we live. That is one that someone old you matched Dove White. BUT I just saw on a Facebook group Aria Quartzite. It is beautiful. If I could find that I would give up quartz. Google that!

Yeah, I thought I was going to get quartzite, too (Santorini White, similar to Aria). But then I read all these horror stories about staining and I changed my mind. Any of the white natural stones are going to have issues with porosity because the white is from calcium. The safest white is Corian. After that, quartz. I decided on quartz because it is 33% plastic vs. 100% for Corian.

Keep in mind that quartz is an engineered product and it is stain resistant and heat resistant but NOT stain proof or heat proof. You cannot put direct heat on it and you cannot get a stain out of it. I personally saw stains in MSI quartz. Not all quartz is made the same. I have quartzite in my kitchen and as long as it's sealed and I make sure to wipe up spills, it's a non issue.

@lisa, is it a light color? I don't mind sealing it. The granite I have in my kitchen at home has stained. I got it out, but I had to try several things first. White Supreme. I just don't want a busy granite anymore.

I totally understand. Natural stone can be fickle and different materials respond to stains differently. Mine is called Ocean Blue so it has a lot of color and movement in it but I don't feel it's busy like granite. At least with a natural stone you do have options to have the stains removed (hopefully) where with quartz you can't have them removed because it's engineered.

@Elaine _M I may have misunderstood, thinking an edge would be put on Have never seen a broken piece. I visited with several Cambria retailers and it was a small store who recommended to take home six different large squares The large squares really help, but I wouldn't want to pay for one. @Lisa Yours is pretty! It doesn't have all of the black spots. Is it actually blue?

HU-380369063 Actually it was a round chunk that was not near the edge. The girl that worked there said the pattern was all the way through. And she showed us the back. I should have taken a picture! It was deep but not all the way through. It was about the size of a penny. It is hard for me to choose quartz when there is such a diference in the look of stone. I saw some that was almost white. I have even seen Fantasy Brown with a lot more white. But I have read that if a slab has white it does stain...

@Elaine _M Yes, it has many different shades of blue from a darker sky blue to aqua and teal. I fell head over heels when I saw it.

I used every free resource and phone call they offered to learn from Cambria is costly, after all By the time I purchased, I felt very confident All the work and indecision, in the end, it is actually the new wood cupboards that I most admire The Cambria is like the frosting It’s there, it’s beautiful and subtly elegant Again, may you find what brings happiness

ps Cambria will tell you their colors are consistent They keep all the formulas This is some of what I learned I never had quartz to know any differently but again their service and warranty were big attractions Ok I need to end this :)

@HU-380369063 What color of Cambria did you buy? Is it in the kitchen? Is it easy to clean and not damage? I really like the all white look. I have priced Cambria and I am ready to order it. I am waiting on having the cabinets installed to order it. It is difficult to get someone to do remodels now!

@Elaine _M I had Cambria in my kitchen for over 12 years and in my master bath for 4 years. I also sold it and met with the Cambria rep in our area who did product knowledge at our store. I loved my Cambria. It's easy to clean and easy to maintain. They are a family run USA business. They even own their own quarry. I went with natural stone in our new house but if I had to go with a quartz, it would be Cambria hands down!

@Lisa I do have a question for you! The thing that concerns me about Cambria is the heat comments. I would never put a hot pan on any countertop. BUT what about things like an All Clad Slow Cooker? Moccamaster or Nespresso Coffee maker? Instant Pot? What things like this needs something under them to use? Air Fryer.. I would think Vitamix would be fine? I think it would look awful to always have something under the coffee make or Vitamix. The other things are not kept on the counter. I have never had to use something under them with the granite countertops. I don't Have to go with quartz. If I do go with quartz it will definitely be Cambria. I thought about going with marble but I am a messy cook! I still want to see your blue when I go back to the beach. (My husband seems to be set on Cambria white! But that might be more due to him being tired of ldiscussions about the countertop.)

I had a cutting board made out of the Cambria and I would sit my slow cooker on that whenever I used it. I never had an issue with my coffee maker. The material is heat resistant so it should be fine with those appliances. You just can't put direct heat like a pan out of the oven.

My quartzite is hard to find. I have only seen it a few places in my search over the past 18 months so when I found it I snagged it. Remember, different places call natural stone by different names so while I purchased Ocean Blue, it may not be called that in other places.

@Elaine _M I have Smithfield. I was advised to put something between the counter and hot heat to be safe. Simple soap/water clean up. My understanding is every surface type has pros and cons. Cambria has earned my trust. Not all quartz is made the same, but there are many good brands Every time I called Cambria, a person answered and they spent time with me. Other brands just had voice recordings. Customer care was part of my decision, also. I had narrowed down choices, had my cabinets installed, my retailer had set up for template to be done, in between I set the large quartz samples up (My h preferred Smithfield from my choices and it was the right choice)

@HU-380369063 You may have said that before! I am so happy to hear that! Because Smithfield is the one I would order but I really hate not to be able to use appliances on the countertop! My h also likes Smithfield, but he will not make sure the coffee maker is on a mat!

@Lisa if you had it on a piece of Cambria you would think it would work on the countertop, but I would be afraid to try it!

@Carol Demas I’m looking at Viatera Lumina with dove cabinets…. you dont think its too bright white? I have the sample and love it but worried its too white

Kristin, I actually preferred Lumina but my locals did not have any slabs of it so I went with a slab that I could see first and settled on Silestone Eternal Statuario. It has a bit of grey in it. It's been fantastic.

@cedemas i was aboe to see the slab of Lumina. Do you have photos of your Silestone
