It's getting prettier as it matures, Cindee! I can see I must add one to my collection next season! It's so amazing that what opens to be so beautiful can actually go above and beyond as it slowly matures... I find that about one day after most blooms are fully open, they look their best. The modern-day recommendation against ammending backfill soil at tree planting is based on two things: 1) Making the soil "real good" right around the present rootball is of no value when what you want the plant to do-and what it needs to do in order to survive, is spread it's roots as far and wide as possible. Hence a pocket of highly ammended soil right where the roots are going to first colonize, is meaningless in the long run. And 2) There is a danger of making the planting hole into a bathtub, or conversely, a very dry spot, if the soil around the new tree is very different in texture from the native soil around it. You can monitor for these problems as you go along. We all recommend the use of a high-tech gadget for assessing soil moisture status-your finger! When the soil is dry a couple inches down, it's water time. I like that you planted a little high. Tree should be fine. +oM

You should put the cursor where you want to paste the words but do not paste yet. Leave the cursor there then select the Edit > Paste > Paste Special > Unformatted Text. If you prefer the find and replace method you don't need to use the other but there's no need to do both. Hope this is clear. It's even easier in word 2007. You copy and paste and after you paste a little icon pops up near the pasted text. You click the down arrow on the icon and select 'keep text only, from the drop down menu and that does it. I will post a picture in case the icon shows up in word 2003. In the context menu 'keep source formatting' is selected but you could choose 'paste text only' and that would do what Ginny is trying to do. I copied part of the page I posted a link to above and pasted it in a new word document and here is how it looked when I clicked on the down arrow of the document. That does it in two clicks. Wow, it's been such an ordeal. I hope she can start to heal now that the legal process is behind her. It's going to be hard to get back to "normalcy". I can't get over the length of the sentence (I'm not complaining). You sure don't get that kind of time for an offense like this in Canada. I have a lot of men on my caseload who are on probation for domestic abuse, and they barely get a slap on the wrist. And once again, good for you Vickey. You have been an amazing support for her, and under the most trying conditions too.
