How to make a paragraph out of non-connecting sentences.

Many times when I copy text from someplace it ends up in lines that aren't complete sentences and the paragraph thus takes up more lines than it should.

I know there is a simple way to "format" this but I can't find it. I do it at work because I know the magic buttons to push but haven't found them in MS Word 2003.

You can try using the "Paste Special ( feature under Edit choose unformatted text and hit ok it should show as your document is formatted already try it anyway

That didn't work. Let me try an example of my problem ...

Today
is
Sunday. Tomorrow is
Monday. The next
day is
Tuesday.

How do I get them to not be chopped up but as they should be, one sentence after the next. I guess the word might be wrapping? to make a paragraph.

To dadoes: I had the agitator in a CURRENT Maytag and bought it because it had a full option button and all the others only had so-called auto-sense meaning put the clothes in dry, it weighs them and allows only so much water for the load. Salesman said it would not fill higher than 12-13". But it had a deep tub and a deep fill option. Great! What happened: I selected full fill and it filled with only low water over the so-called wash plates. Could not change it. When wash was over, it then filled with deep water and rocked a long time while floating debris came to the surface. How is that helpful?? I don't want a super rinse, I want a deep wash and deep rinse because dilution removes dirt. Folks, look at the tub bottom. Agitator or not, if it has "wash plates" you will not get enough water to wash your clothes clean. Read and believe the reviews of people who "HATE" their HE washers. It is all coming to this and if someone finds the kind that has no wash plates it must be an older inventory model, or from a manufacturer that the government has not noticed yet. But they will--it's the law. They bullied Speed Queen and that's one of the biggest and oldest reliable manufacturers of wash equipment. Alice3671

I would rather go into a wide, not deep space to get my items than have to enter a deep, narrow space to find things. But this also depends a bit on what kind of items you need to store there. If, for example, you need a broom closet for vacuum, brooms, etc., I would keep the door with the bag on it but just move the interior wall so that is a less deep closet. I would make it just deep enough for the vacuum and such. You could then use those extra inches in the new pantry. I would leave the arch as it's a nice feature and gives that hall character. And then I would create a pantry that could be left open without doors on it at all. Something like this but it would have the arch as the opening instead of a square opening. I would probably have solid drawer fronts and use the drawers for less attractive items like, oh, jars of peanut butter, And, if you could put in a few plug-ins, this would make a perfect spot for a beverage center and/or for a small microwave. Or a popcorn popper. Toaster. Whatever. I think this would make that long, narrow hallway feel less closed in by having no doors there, it would be more easily accessible, and could even function as a bit of an extra work space for easy things....like, say, someone just wants a snack while the cook is busy in the kitchen. They could make a sandwich or pop a bowl of popcorn or make coffee or something like that in this space without intruding on the cook. I see you don't have a lot of counter space in your so I think this would be very helpful to have a space like this available. I'm actually creating a similar space just off my kitchen that is a beverage/snack center I'm really liking it although DH is having a hard time adjusting to using it. He's a snacker and I really appreciate him not being underfoot in the kitchen making a PB&J sandwich to tide him over until dinner, or making coffee out of the kitchen if I'm making breakfast. Since you also have a smaller kitchen, like I do, you might really like this, too.

I've attempted wiring with both alternatives attempted; one time capped yellow wire, the other time purple was capped. It looks like I'm on positive side this time but not sure to see it as complete. Better than previous experience - that circuit breaker did not trip so power to the room remain intact. I did not finish my entire work of fixing fan yet but attempting only to see if wiring works. So, the best test I see is to see if the light will turn on and next step is if possible to see if fan motor turns with out blades fixed. Every time I turn on the switch I see lights flash and go off irrespective of what I'm doing with remote (yes, each time). Reference Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5s...piZ2ZEclE/view Quick internet read relates mentioning: I've attempted 1 and then 2 CFL bulbs each of 13 watts, each light holder on fan indicates max 14 w can be attempted. I've to attempt 9W LED bulbs that came along, may be that can indicate something to me. In general what I expected is lights will stay on and relate to remote actions. And so fan motor may turn if I do so on remote. I think all remaining work is mechanical (like fix blades and give it a final shape). I'm also sure remote battery is as new as fan came along fan package and so far not yet clicked more than 10 times. This is making me to think to think if I can move ahead finish all of it and then attempt. Any one sensing problem with that flashing or that flashing light indicate everything is going to be good when done? Thank you all and any insights is very much appreciated.

Note: My long post is a response to a similarly long post by a member here who then deleted her post. Rather than delete mine also, I have decided to leave it because I hope some of my thoughts are relevant to the whole series of conversations here. However angry we may feel at the tragic consequences, it's clear that however long and how severe the punishment, it won't reverse what happened or bring back the poor lady who was killed, heal the gentleman's injuries any faster, or take the ache from the hearts of all concerned. Surely we have to ask ourselves what purpose is served here, that would not be equally well served by a 'short sharp shock' of jail time (not inconsiderable, if the tales we hear of what happens to 'pretty' young lads like that in jail are to be believed), a sizeable fine in relation to his potential earning power, and a long period of license cancellation along with some kind of rehabilitative programme and/or community service enabling the perpetrator to learn, grow and give back something to society. There are a number of philosophy of law books that may help understand why societies have various consequences to prohibited criminal activity and the purpose of various sentences in relation to that criminal activity. Certainly I believe it is just to hold people accountable for their actions, and while many systems of law have different rules for small children, at 19 those who are licensed drivers must be accountable for their driving. Age brings better judgment, but at 19 many have jobs, families, and are able to understand the consequences of their actions, and are able to perpetrate the sort of crimes that rules and law have been set up to handle that protect society. While diminished capacity has long been a defense to some crimes, the legal response to those who voluntarily drink or take drugs that lead to diminished capacity has been overwhelmingly on the side of holding that person accountable, and they are held accountable in a similar manner to others, not merely given a slap on the wrist which is not an adequate response if protecting society is one of the goals of law. In addition, there are a number of factors, some statutory, others that leave a judge with some leeway on sentence length. And in addition to that, there are other practical factors such as the economy which come into play, in a downturn there may be less or no funding for rehab programs as you describe. A particular sentence for a particular crime is always met with differing opinions, (the parties involved, their friends and family, readers) and it is exactly those differences that make the framework of law set up prior to the crime valuable. I believe that the anger many felt here was directed, in addition to this heinous crime (you can argue youth and lack of judgment and mitigating circumstances all day long, but backing up over someone just run over is not an 'oops' action), at the way the OP presented the situation and at his professed feeling that some lives are worthier than others. I don't believe a young person's years are worthier than an older person's years, as an older person myself, I object to and resent any thoughts that consequences for crimes against me should be discounted because of my age.

I used word 97 and now use word 2007 so I'm sure it works different in word 2003 but what you want to do is paste without formatting. If you have a paste special 'paste with source format' should be a choice. If not click on the word help ? and type 'paste with formatting' in the help box. That should lead you to a solution.

Ginny, Use Find and Replace:

Edit > Find > Special > Paragraph (this selects ^p)

Find Next > Replace With (then insert a space in the box).

Step through your document and "Replace one by one" or "Replace all".

this worked for me as soon as I figured out the ^p to put in Find
Bob that worked for me too and I was able to delete the paragraph symbol

I still don't have any luck with your ideas. I checked the help menu; no luck. I see articles online about formatting but I don't have the time now to read them and figure this out.

I can't believe this is so confusing when at work it's a simple two step process.

When this happens, it usually means a paragraph has been inserted at each break. Instead of trying to find just the right commands to fix this, sometimes the easiest and fastest thing to do is just put the cursor at the end of each word where there is an incorrect break and hit delete to eliminate the break and rejoin the sentence parts. Sometimes you may have to hit delete more than once at the end of a word depending on what weird thing happened when it got copied.

I do that all the time. I find it amazing and frustrating that there isn't an easy way to do this. As I said, whatever program is used at my work has this function with two clicks of the mouse.

Hard to believe that the folks that developed MS Word wouldn't have thought of this!!

I just put the curser at the end of each sentence and press "delete" to get rid of whatever "hard return" happens to be there. I start at the top. Admittedly, this is not for huge jobs, but it's simple enough.

Bob the next step is the find replace
After she does that (above) then highlight the part she wnts to change and do the Find Replace
She has to put the ^ and a p in the find slot and the space in the replace with slot
I had to do it several times before I caught on

You should put the cursor where you want to paste the words but do not paste yet. Leave the cursor there then select the Edit > Paste > Paste Special > Unformatted Text. If you prefer the find and replace method you don't need to use the other but there's no need to do both. Hope this is clear. It's even easier in word 2007. You copy and paste and after you paste a little icon pops up near the pasted text. You click the down arrow on the icon and select 'keep text only, from the drop down menu and that does it. I will post a picture in case the icon shows up in word 2003. In the context menu 'keep source formatting' is selected but you could choose 'paste text only' and that would do what Ginny is trying to do. I copied part of the page I posted a link to above and pasted it in a new word document and here is how it looked when I clicked on the down arrow of the document. That does it in two clicks. Here's the picture:

When I click on the Edit tab, if I hit "Paste" it is pasted; it doesn't give me the choice to then hit "paste special" as your directions seem to indicate. If I go right to "paste special" same thing, no continuous sentences. Maybe my Word is corrupted?

My 35 year old daughter just tried Bob and Minnie's suggestions without luck.

I'm very used to Word 2003 but maybe I should upgrade?

Thank you all for your time. Looks like I need to forget taking the easy route on this.

Ginny I just checked and I have WORD 2002
When I hit EDIT I get a list of things among which is regular paste and then paste special
