What color would you paint/stain my front door? Please help!
Comments (19)I just wanted to update my post with a final decision. They pressed us for a stain choice two months ago and they JUST STAINED IT ON THURSDAY! How's that for urgency? Anyway, after much thought and consideration we went with Minwax Walnut gel stain for the front door. Thanks to all who offered thoughts and opinions. I think it turned out beautiful. Here are a few pics as I know that's what we all REALLY want to see... :-)...See MoreNeed help with front door paint or stain color
Comments (4)Nice doors. You have two general approaches. One of the distinctive feature of this entry is the contrasting brick and stone. They're very different. So you can: 1. Choose a color that picks up tones from both the brick and the stone as a way to tie these different materials together. A rust color would be a good choice. 2. Choose a color that contrasts with that color. Look at the color wheel and choose a color opposite. So if you choose rust, paint the door a greenish blue -- more green if your rust is more red and more blue if your rust is more orange....See Morex-post -- curb appeal, front door stain or paint color
Comments (4)Thanks to all for the input. We had not thought of a grout-colored stain daisychain01, but will look into it. We have toyed with dark grey paint, like the stone. The previous door was a medium grey paint, and it looked nice. sujafr - thanks for the amazing mock up. Our kitchen, to the immediate left as you step inside, has bold turquoise accents, and i have a line on an etsy store for turquoise house numbers and mailboxes....See MorePainting/staining advice needed for new fiberglass front doors
Comments (2)Those are great doors, a lot nicer style than your old ones! I would stain the outside, even if it's a little more maintenance, because it would look so much better. It's typical for doors to be painted white on the inside, and I don't think it would look cheap, especially if youl are careful to use the same color and sheen as the rest of your woodwork....See MoreCyndy
