Help me choose some colors here (granite, backsplash, cabinets)
Comments (37)OK, here are the pics after the cabs were stained. We went with a deep mahogany to coordinate with the tiles, granite and backsplash. The results have really exceeded our expectations. My contractor says that the shine of the top coat will tone down over the next few weeks. Note: I have many skills, but photography is not one of them. So please excuse the crappy pics :) The stain is really a dark brown/mahogany -- not black as seen in some of the pics. Here is a picture with the flash on -- shows some of the brown tones...See MorePoll: Help me choose finish for cabinet hardware

Comments (37)The sofa color looks like "halfway dried concrete" - its not as dark as concrete when its wet, but deeper (and browner) than dry concrete. I really like the idea of using that for a floor color. I know it will be hard to find. Adura Max (the brand I'm most familiar with) has 3 things that might be worth looking at. Their website has a dealer locator that would help you find the closest dealer. Lakeview Rapid is one, it has a wood look but maybe it's aged enough that it won't compete with the wood cabinets & floors? Meridian in Fossil color is hard to get a read on. In real life I found it more speckled with light and dark areas. But it is a more intense version of your couch color, I think. More towards brown than gray. Legacy with Beige veining is a big risk IMHO but it's a marble look that isn't cold in person. The background has a warm undertone and the veins are a brown/gray color instead of pure gray. I say it's a big risk because of the pattern. I'd be apprehensive to use it....See MoreTaupe kitchen cabinets and red oak floor. Help choose floor stain!
